@NINIBABY1000 The rubberbands are just to secure all the braids so you can rod more than one at a time and dont have to worry about them coming off the rod this is mainly because the hair is cut in layers.

thanks, i did these braids, it took maybe 13 hours, mostly burning, esp depending on the lighter.

i think i used colors 33, and maybe 4 for this looks. hope u like the way ur braids come out

Your hair is super cute! Just the style I've been looking for. However, I would love to see a pic of the braids before u curled the ends. I can't tell if these are boxed or pixies. Where I'm from in DC, boxed are straight braids, pixies are curled under a little on the ends and they take on sort of a "bob" style. Also, how lond did it take u to do just the actual braids. Going to get my hair braided this weekend but I have a feeling I'm going to have to walk them through this one- lol.

three months at the most, but make sure you wash your hair before you put them in, and still wash them while they're in, wait about 3 weeks before u do so, or use witch hazel.

as long as they aren't too tight they shouldn't take your hair out.

also make sure you keep your scalp moisturized.

I think pixie braids are normally braied all the way down, while micro braids are braided until the person's actual hair ends. Also pixie braids tend to have sealed ends at the bottom.

and when i did get them

i use to pay about 24 a bag for human hair; there's yaki, yaki perm, remi etc, just feel the hair and then decide from there. but human hair can range from about 15-50+ depending on brand and type.

with micros you only need 2 bags or less and that is to get very full micros similar to the fullness of these braids, if whom ever is doing your braids says you need more, go to someone else.

It's too set the "curl" pattern in the hair. It would take longer if you didn't put it in water, plus curl wouldn't be beautiful like hers.

you dont have to put rubberbands at the end, just braid a little further than you want them and then roll and dip in hot water, the ends will not come undone because the hot water seals them

Do you have any tips on how to do a short pixie bob on long hair? I just took out a set of braids, my hair is past my shoulders but I want to try to do a pixie bob with the back of the braids ending at the back of my neck and the braids in the front a little longer. I thought maybe I could do a couple of cornrows across the back to disguise the back and have the braids from on top then fall over to hide the cornrows. Any suggestions?

sorry I answered this and it never posted.

Anyways, your method seems like it will work well.

I would braid the hair going upwards as if into a ponytail. this way the hair in the back will appear fuller and you will be able to braid it longer but it will stop shorter since the cornrow is going upwards.

You might need help with that though

I would even braid the hair across the back, starting from say the left side of the nap of the neck go across and then braid in an s like form. If you make the other braids full and long enough to cover this part it will be easily unnoticed

Tried it, but the top part was too long and it landed at the shoulders. I thought maybe I could curl it under but that didn't work either, so I just went with the long pixie braids.

You know you can also put all your braids in 5 or 6 big braids or twists and dip them and they come out really wavy!
