@arghle456 IIRC Longbows can shoot more arrows per second than other bows, and since they're upgradable w/ firewood, that's probably why he's doing it.

there's a way faster way to mamoth hunt... ..get a sorc mercenary in riften...use the weakening shout and go in dual wield...dead in 5 sec with 3X L+R atk

@BaninjaCakes its in one of the quests later on in the quest line, you trap a dragon in whiterun, i wont say anymore because ill spoil the quest for you, its a great quest tons of fun. :) you can therefore call for that dragon after completing the quest.

One handed weapon is at 82, dual wield attacks, Ebony sword of blaze doing 104 damage and 31 point fire damage in one hand, Chillrend in other hand doing 107 damage and 31 points frost damage equals one strike kills anything in the game.

@Bobbyboy532 At the end of the main quest, you get a new shout that lets you call the dragon. I've used him on a few of the other quest lines, it's pretty fun having a dragon at your beck and call.

@JakersXD I think the bow was to keep the mammoths attention so the dragon would attack it. If the mammoth wasn't marked as hostile then the dragon wouldn't see it as your enemy.
