Do all who doubt faith..... Althletes need confidence(FAITH) in there abilites to perorm well. We belive(haveFAITH) that our husbands/wives etc love us even though we dont have proof(their behaviour is not proof, for all we know it could be an act for some type of gain). In so many facets of our life we need to have faith. If someone has faith in a deity or supreme being then noone can argue, because we all have blind faith in something at some time in our lives. Peace+love to all
The premise put forth was solely to accept a point for the sake of argument. That's all. Yet, if you wish only for an opportunity to spew demeaning epithets, that is surely your prerogative. I believe, ultimately, that decision makes you look like "sheep" and not the shepherd. To a sheep's credit, it's teachable, a resource of warmth, balm, food, good children's stories. So Godspeed to you. Perhaps we might talk sometime about what is really bothering you. At least your syntax is solid.
Are you suggesting that without the teachings of an eccentric rabbi in the Middle East society would consider it to be ok to steal and lie and kill etc? Why do you refuse to answer my question about amputees? Why not answer that. In addition, please tell me how old you believe our planet to be, and also for how long do you believe humans have lived on it.
I don't know if He was "an eccentric rabbi in the Middle East" or not. If you choose to believe historic documents, you must choose all of them. It truly is an all or nothing debate. Finally, of all religions, none are led from front by person/persons claiming anything that is substantiated after their deaths. In essence, none lived like Christ, died like Christ, nor will return as Christ will. As far as amputees goes? God moves in mysterious ways. Today, I will just believe and have faith.
@sni1001per And there we have it! That absurd old excuse that the religious fool must fall back upon - 'God moves in mysterious ways'. Indeed, how mysterious it is that the only 'miracles' of medical recovery that are attributed to him are well-known to naturally occur in medical science (albeit rarely). However, any recovery which would require intervention beyond what can be achieved naturally never occurs. He works in mysterious ways.. You poor, pathetic fool. Also, you say that it's an all -
@sni1001per - or nothing debate. You must believe all of the historic documents. Presumably you believe the Bible in its entirety. Tell me, do you believe that the Flood and Noah's Ark actually took place? That Jonah survived in the belly of a whale? No doubt you do, you wretchedly weak-minded sheep.
Everything that begins to exist has a cause. The universe began to exist (Big Bang). Therefore the universe has a cause. The uncaused cause. Otherwise you have an endless loop of cause which is not reasonable. And because there is a cause, there is hope, there is meaning and all things are possible.
I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!its so true!!!!!im adopted and never thought i would never get adopted but love took me in!!!!!!!God is so wonderful!!!!!!!!praise god!!!!!thanx steven!!!!!
God exists? Do you have any evidence to support that assertion? Or is it just the case that you feel so warm and fuzzy when thinking about your fairytale creator that you just convinced yourself that he is realy? Thanks to science, I know exactly what I am and how I am here. You should educate yourself.
@Planxty You should read Josh McDowell's material. He despised Christians just as you do & set out to intellectually prove God doesn't exist, but every examination brought him closer to the realization that nothing could exist without God. Be still & know that He IS God.
@Planxty By believing in God it gives us Christian something to look forward to, Eternal Life with Christ! We Christian have something atheism can't offer you, hope, forgiveness, life with purpose and love.
What does atheism give you to look forward to when you die? Basically nothing! According to atheism if you die right now you JUST go in the ground dead.
@cachemachine Ok. So you belief makes you FEEL better. It provides consolation and hope etc. Like a child is afraid of the dark, so too are humans afraid of death. Any offer to avoid the unavoidable obviously carries some appeal. However, that is no reason to believe that your particular belief is true. To follow your logic to its conclusion, it is a perfectly sound and rational idea to take heroin - it makes you feel vastly better.
If God doesn't exist what do I have to loose by believing in him? Nothing. I live behind a legacy, a man who loved his wife and kids more than himself. One who gave unselfishly to the needy. Offer kind words to the lonely. I will be well know for my faith in a loving God!
Now if he is real, what will you have to lose?
According to the bible God turn away those who don't believe in him.
@cachemachine In relation to your earlier post, indeed, I agree. When you did you will have no disappointments. You will no longer enjoy consciousness and therefore you cannot by definition experience disappointment. As for what you have to lose by believing, here you are essentially referring to Pascal's Wager. Hitchens sums this up neatly in a two minute clip which I suggest you search for 'christopher hitchens pascal's wager'
@cachemachine Furthermore, atheism isn't a 'belief' that someone subscribes to. It merely indicates that someone does not subscribe to a theistic belief. The name itself is entirely superfluous. For example, there is no name for people who do not believe in fairies, or unicorns etc. All the information is available to you which would free your mind of this childish nonsense. I sincerely pity you if you are so far brainwashed that you not wish to evaluate the evidence (or lack thereof).
@Planxty You pity me? Do yourself a favor, don't! When I die I will not suffer any disappointments! I chose to follow Christ on my free will!
Let's take diabetes for example, how do we know it doesn't exist, millions has it. No one can see it or hold it, it can't be tasted, it can't be seen. From your logic it doesn't exist. Just mere numbers on a little device that can be held in your hand. But it's real and a very deadly condition.
@cachemachine Wow, what an incredibly bad analogy to make. Diabetes can be proved by observable and falsifiable medical science. It is a good example of when you SHOULD believe in something i.e. because it is supported by cogent evidence. I'm baffled as to how you see any parallel on this point. They are diametrically opposed in terms of empirical evidene.
@Planxty I once suffered from diabetes, My doctor said It will be with me till I die.
I feel to my knees asked Christ into my life. 3 months later, My numbers were way too normal. The doctor said I didn't have any signs of diabetes and I became healthy!
Explain please, science said it was impossible!!!! My Lord said In Revelation 21: 5 " Behold, I make all things new." My doctor said I had a death sentence!
My doctor started believing in God after seeing that, he was a extreme atheist.
@cachemachine The explanation is quite simple: IT HAPPENS. There are numerous cases of diabetes disappearing. Similarly, there are numerous examples of cancer going into full remission, despite the fact that a terminal diagnosis had been given. This is entirely unrelated to praying. In fact, studies have been conducted as to the effects of prayer on ill-health. The results are not in your favour. May I ask, why doesn't your Lord grant his 'impossible' recoveries to amputees? Please enlighten me
@Planxty God grants healing on his time NOT ours. Some he grants gifts instead of healing. He uses challenges in our lives to reveal our character and draw us closer to him. Read John Haggee's "When Life Challenges You Opportunities." It basically put is in simple terms, when can let handicaps irritate us or be like an oyster, use the irritants in our life to produce into beautiful pearls. Now what isn't in my favor? No weapon formed by man, can take out my faith!!
@Planxty Best to give up!!!! My faith is stronger than science and has stood the test of time for 2,000 years. While science constantly changes my God doesn't. The same bible I read from has been in print since 1611.
While man lies, steal and destroys my God teaches of love, kindness and overcoming hardships. Why do you want to silence that? But don't silence hate and destruction?
You didn't answer my question, though I didn't really expect you to. You're clearly a victim of deep indoctrination and brain-washing. I pity you, you weak-minded simpleton.
@Planxty God heals more than one way, some he grants physical healing some emotional healing, some spiritual healing. Look up David Ring. He was brain dead for the first 18 minutes of his life. When he starting breathing the Dr.s said he was going to be crippled. He has Cerebral Palsy ! The Doctor said no, to walking, talking, having a normal wife! He is now married with kids! He has Cerebral Palsy what is your excuse?
I advise you, don't pity me. I'm not the one with anything to loose!
@cachemachine You suggest that God can, and indeed does, intervene to grant physical healing. Again, I ask you why this is limited to remissions and cures that can ok naturally in the human body, albeit rarely. Why does he refuse to heal amputees? Even a child could see how obvious the answer is here. You fail to see it, however. You and your brainwashed buddies give fatuous responses such as 'God works in mysterious ways', or you suggest that he will give 'spiritual' healing to amputees
@Planxty I CHOOSE Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Notice: I said "choose" Out of my free will. Not because of what any person told or I read. Simply because knowing that real or not, Jesus is always with me. I can turn to him with all my problems.
Who do you turn to with yours, significant other, sibling, parent, shrink or companion? You know any of them can be taken out of your life at any giving moment! Then who do you turn to? Jesus is in my life to stay, real or not he has never failed me!
@cachemachine 'real or not, Jesus is always with me' - that is remarkable.. I presume you are an adult, yet you are quite content to live with an imaginary friend just because it provides some sort of comfort to your problems. Do you realise how puerile and pathetic that is? Grow a pair. Realise what you are i.e. an intelligent primate, and live the most fulfilling life you can. If you wish to live like an abject slave to an imaginary friend, I can pity you. Again you avoid my previous question.
@Planxty I have seen wars that only you read about in history class. I seen man's evil I also seen the Good of God.
It's foolish to see what I seen deny God. I pray you don't witness the evil I have. But if liberal and non-believers stay in control you will see worse
Respond to this video... Let me ask so the Bible is a lie? The teachings of Christ don't exist such as: love your neighbor, care for the needy, honor your parents, show compassion for the enemy, don't lie, don't steal, don't kill, be faithful. Hope, love and faith. What you are saying non of these are real. Because the bible has taught these moral over 2K years longer we been alive!
Like I said I chose God. Because I am free. You chose nothing because you are free!
@yng2bt Obviously I can't say it with absolutely certainty that he does not exist. In the same way that I cannot say with absolute certainty that fairies do not exist. What I can say, however, is that there is no evidence whatsoever to believe that he does exist. If you want to believe something in the absence of evidence then shame on you, you weak-minded fool.
Steven God haved a Shoanna in arms and she a living a better place this is kingdonm of heaven, this girl so beatiful child and she is running all round the Lord. God Blessing
