clapton was smart to leave. he knew that band wasnt going anywhere, falling into the pop music of the day. him, the who, the stones broke new ground and changed the music world
In my opinion Clapton did his best work with The Bluesbreakers....Page w/ LZ & Beck just continues to evolve & and break new ground.He brought Tal Wakenfield into the spotlight so that now not only bass players & jazz freaks know her name.What a talent !
does anybody know where can I find the video of "For Your Love" that appears here? I looked for it everywhere, but I only found the one where they are playing in a TV programme, and I really love the one that appears in this documentary
The Yardbirds were inducted into the Rockin Roll Hall of Fame in 1993... Icould never figure out what took so long? The Yardbirds are my favorite band of all time...
It's a shame too because you have so many great artists that have gotten into the RNR Hall of Fame, but yet there are still a lot of underrated and underappreciated bands that have a made a huge contribution to RNR music all throughout the decade that have not been given the respect that they deserve for the achievements and scarfices that they have made to RNR music as a whole. Other than that I am happy that Metallica, the Stooges, and Run DMC are been recognized for 2009.
Yeah man i don't get it either. Even Madonna and some rap artists have been inducted into the RNR hall of fame, i mean i don't have anything against these artists, BUT THEY DON'T PLAY ROCKANDROLL!! I mean, it's like getting Led Zeppelin into a HIP HOP ALL OF FAME.
I love the yardbirds. One of the best bands in the 60s by far and I hope that Jeff Beck gets inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame this year finally. I think that that RNR committee are a bunch of assholes and I'm trying to figure out why bands like Rush, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The MC5 and The Moody Blues are not even mentioned. I think that the RNR Hall of Fame is a joke and that why most people don't take it seriously anymore.
Nice video - like snusmumriken3 I appreciate seing Jane Relf talking about Keith. I have a video like it but it does not have this. She's right K was able to put across a song- he actually gave you a real emotional drive!
