  • Good, but too fast!

  • I'm surprised no one has mentioned Roberto Plano. Argerich is awesome -- in the sense that she truly inspires awe--but Plano gives me the gaucho riding over the pampas, the horse galloping yet under control, the joyful bursts of melody interrupting the pattern of the hooves.

  • "PIANISTA ARGENTINO" ESTE TERMINO EN CUALQUIER MOMENTO VA A SER UN CUMPLIDO. DANIEL BAREMBOIM (LA ULTIMA PALABRA EN BEETHOVEN), MARTHA ARGETICH (ULTIMA PALABRA EN PROKOFIEV Y MUCHOS OTROS), SERGIO TIEMPO (NUEVO GRAN TALENTO)

  • I am a bit dissapointed with this performance, it sounded to me like she had trouble with the tempo and she used too much of pedal. I really love her performances, but this one just isn't on her level

  • ALWAYS MARTA ARGERICH. THE BEST, THE NUMBER ONE.

  • I can't believe it! She messed up the glissando at the end, the easiest (and possibly most impressive) part of the piece!

  • @Verschrankung I couldn't believe it either!!

  • such a fantastic artist! No other past, present, or future!

  • Please don't beat me up for this... MA is truly great, and this frenetic rendition of this wonderful Ginastera piece is good, but to my ears, a little soulless. There's a certain musical place a good musician can manage to get to where the piece he/she is playing becomes a living and breathing entity, and the listener can see, taste, feel the particular scene or world which the composer had in mind. It's more than just the studly playing of so many notes.

  • no it sounds like shit when anybody else plays it

  • @fr3d420 that's not a fair comment......After listening for a few times, you'll find this music funny ^^ Just like Prokofiev Piano Sonata No.7 3rd Movement!

  • @fr3d420 I would like to hear you playing this :) then we can talk :)

  • @fr3d420 It probably sounds like shit to you because you have shit for ears.

  • @JoFrSc Your comment seems to reveal that you have a high level of stupidity... you cant even come up with a decent insult.

  • @fr3d420 It suggests a higher level of stupidity to frequent a website you "hate" [your profile text] and watch and comment on videos you dont like. Also, I liked his comment, it amused me somewhat... so fuck you

  • @RH98 lol... fuck you idiots.

  • @fr3d420 revealing or not, there is still the village idiot who claims that the best interpreter of the XX century "sounds like shit"... oh I'm sorry that must be you, well who cares, you're not even aware of that

  • That left me breathless . It's a dance; it's just a WILD dance!

  • Martha sos la gloria

  • I dream of being able to play like this...

  • That was live?!?!!?!?!?! WWWWOOOOOWWWW!!!!

No me gusta :(

  • This is awesome

  • GREAT!

  • such energy, plus clarity, plus it remains a dance. Martha in her best.

  • Only Argerich can play like this.

  • ahhh, contempoary music ...

  • @xxxxx123456789xxxxx1 Really? This piece was written in 1937 - that's 'contemporary' to you?...

  • strepitosa...!

  • Grandeeee!!!!

  • Te amo, Martha!

  • Genial, maestra ella !

  • This is so fucking AWSOME!!!!

  • oh my gosh!!! amazing (: (:

  • Bravo!

  • this is all i can say : BRAVO and ENCORE!

  • Excelente Martha Argerich !!!! EXCELENTE...

  • amazing...........

    pure genious

  • Amazing....Argerich, if you ever see this at all, please play the 1st sonata and have someone upload it on youtube.....I'd love to hear that rendention

  • This has to be the absolute best interpretation of this on Youtube. Being Argentenian herself she knows the rhythmic pulse of her people's music. The only other pianist IMO who's interpretation of Ginastera is just as good as Argerich's is Barbara Nissman who learned a great deal from Ginastera himself. Hell he wrote his 3rd piano sonata for her. But everytime I hear this interpretation I am floored.

  • Ouch, what nonsense!!! Argerich was a girl of 14 years when she came to Argentina and she knew nothing of the popular rhythms. She plays so beautifully because she is a genius

  • EXCUSE ME? Argerich was born in argentina until she left to study with Gulda at age 10-12.

  • Disculpame, no entiendo qué te referís.

    Podés ponerlo en castellano. Gracias!!!

  • At 13 actually.

  • @derefis She was born and study and give piano concerts in Argentina until she received a scholarship from Peron's government to study with __Gulda. Then she remained in Europe playing and having success over and over again up to now. But she is argentinian for ever.

  • Look dear, if you say steroids means that you speak of drugs, beyond any slang. Another person on this site also understood that you referred to drugs. I am Argentinian, and pianist and I assure you that playing this dance is not necessary to know the folk rhythms.

  • Yes, it's some Argentinian essence on steroids. (Do you suppose Argerich might be on some kind of performance enhancing drug? I mean who the hell plays like this without some sort of help? Then again, this brilliance is probably aided 'from above' because her playing is divine.)

  • Steroids ?''!!! What kind of fool are you? She was born with this gift, she plays so beautifully because she is a genius. Maybe you need drugs to live, she is simply a superior being.

  • You are on such a stupid tyrade of trying to "check" people that you don't realize that the term "steroids" was a compliment and not an implication of her using drugs.

The term "steroids" in the slang usage refers to something going "next level". As foir Argerch knowing nothing of the popular rhythms how would you know?

If you have ever been there or any country for that matter you would know the peoples music is fused into every aspect of the people's lives.

  • You are the moron for not seeing the humor in my compliment to Argerich. OF COURSE she is not on steroids, you idiot.

Brava!!!

  • Wowsa!!! I thought I heard this piece before, but I guess not. This is really it.

  • Yes... Argerich is a wonderful player ^_^

  • breathtaking.....

  • bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Un-bloody-believable playing!

  • i'm

    obsessed

    with martha argerich

  • me too !!!

  • Sencillamente impresionante

  • This is really an amazing interpretation!

  • one of my two favourite preformers of Ginastera... Martha and Portugheis...

Martha is creating a storm of pation with her amazing chords.....

    she is just incredable

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • perfecto, sobran palabras

  • i'm learning this piece.. hearing Martha playing it actually makes it sound like a dance :)

  • i'm learning these 3 dances they're sooo fun this obviously my favorite.

argerich plays them so well she's so amazing!!

  • I've heard this many times before, but could never make sense out of it. Sounded like rhythmic noise to me...until I heard Martha play it. Words can't describe her playing. Good Lord, can she make music!Such clarity and excitement! Thanks kiwibd!

  • que mito!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was AMAZING!!!!! The way she can make it smooth, but not sound like she's just holding the petal down is incredible!!!! You don't here that everyday!!!!!

  • Martha Argerich - you are the best!

  • WTF?!?!?!?! THIS IS AWESOME :D

  • Shutup, your comment fails, enjoy your AIDS kind sir.

  • It has the possibility of succeeding because it is NOT metal. And because it is Martha, it blows us all away with its brilliance.
