They are VERY quiet. I have had one for 11 years. He sleeps next to when I sleep on the fouton. He stays completely quiet until he hears me stir when I awaken. You can also train these guys not to do their very high pitched SCREECH using specific methods. Mine tells me when he wants to go to bed, have a bath, get some juice or if I'm too loud he will say 'STOP THAT!"

One of my GCC's lived next to some sun conures for a while so they have both learned to scream like suns too only not quite as loud.

They are definitely not as quite as everyone might think.

@telenurse1 my ysgcc does the same thing, its called love the gcc's way, they nipp cause they are litterally madd at you for putting them away

actually after further review i woill still vote against a green cheek and add a vote that it is a ccockateil, i know that sound

My gcc pitches an absolute fit when I put him/her to bed and then, in the morning demands my presence as soon as we uncover the cage.

@kejano26 no way...suns are MUCH louder and deeper. look up any video of a screaming sun conure and it sounds absolutely nothing like a green cheek.

how old is yours? my 2 year old pineapple never carries on this long. she just does a high pitched beep every so often or when something loud is on or when my dusky head gets her excited.

My conure is a green cheek and he gets way louder than this when he hears an ambulance coming down the street, he does a really high pitched screech.
