  • This is a freeing, cleansing song. I hope that makes sense. >_<

  • I remember I use to love listening this song on mornings

  • itsfredholmestoyou has uploaded the full version. 7:40 of pure musical genius.

  • The best band around at the moment without a doubt

  • it's hard to capture what they did in this song, and i'm so happy they did it

  • What a great band got all the albums but this ones the best!!!!

  • This track makes me cry. I love it. X

  • I am a 31 year old man who first heard this song in a drugged drunk stupor an totally fell in love with it. That was was several years ago i have since got married "and settled down" but am now in love with something else but this song remains a constant. I think the world is a beter place with it in it.

  • funny im 31 also and I think the same

  • Goosebumps doesnt come in to it.

  • It's all too much. ;-) LOVE this track.

  • i love this song though it reminds me a bit of coldplay.

theyre comin to my neck of the woods in may!

  • @zombieflayer666 COLDPLAY???

Coldplay are nothing but a pub band compared to Doves.

  • absolutely adore this track...kinda shoegazey, dreamy, yet euphoric and upbeat, despite the lyrics

  • i remember an old NME interview - apparently this one's about some haunted house where a woman ghost would appear in your sleep , yeah ?

  • short version :( Still good though!!

  • sarah and steve. . . .

  • Ye This Is Frum Sarah And Steve :) At (1:28)

  • masterpiece song

  • Sarah and Steve ?????

  • These guys are fooking ace !!..does anyone know what this songs about ? It sounds like a great song to get wasted to on a lazy sunday afternoon anyway.

  • love the Slidy Bass Line :)

  • Hey bmovieruss, shut your fucking cake hole! Did you not see the compliments I gave? I'm a tool? Look in the mirror,Chief.

  • wonderfulllllll. pure magic man.musical heaven

  • Love the group, love the album, love the song, do not love the boring artsy- fartsy black and white video. also, do not love the way they castrated the song here. It's a different vocal track, too. "Lost Souls" is definitely one of the best albums of this young century so far. Nothing Doves has done since compares.

  • Ah, now you've said that i reckon Doves will definitely get rid of the video...... Tool

  • Agree with some of it timothysaarinen, but last broadcast was amazing, got me through some hard times

  • This is one of the top ten songs ever written no problems

  • possibly their best song - after Snowden

  • This song always brings a smile to my face, no matter my mood, timeless classic at almost ten years old as well. Thanks to Guy Garvey for playing it on XFM a few years back

  • Such an underrated band, absolutely spectacular and fast becoming one of my favourites.

  • "Cedar Room (Album Version)" is my favourite song to listen to while driving through the woods on Saturday afternoons. It's just fantastic.

  • They did indeed play this at Glastonbury a week ago- completely blew me away & sent shivers down my spine as the entire crowd sang along- very emotional moment!

  • top quality band

  • The album version of the song is way better at 7.38 minutes.

  • These guys are AWSOME and should be the next coming of badass bands. I love the song Sky starts falling check it out.

  • if i could write a song, this would be the one.Love it

  • it say it all about our music society if this band has been around since 1985 and not really in the music spotlight and afucking useless band like oasis can come through and take the glory !! wake up fucking people

  • I thank Oasis for first introducing me to this band - I saw them supporting them at Wembley and ever since that day I have held Doves in much higher regard than Oasis...

  • Sadly, it has - apparently - been retired from this tour. :( Perhaps it'll be back by Glastonbury?

  • Oh Yesh. I was gutted they didn't play it on the KOR tour, but they did it at Glastonbury. Too good to leave out of any set. Love Doves

  • Love Doves and thought they were ace in Manchester last Sunday but to be honest I was absolutely gutted they didnt play this. Its probably one of my favorite tunes of all time and certainly my favorite Doves tune. Anyone know why they didnt play it??

  • Is this the actual official video for the doves?

  • Probably one of the best songs i've heard from them, and probably the best album they have ever done. To this day i still listen to it.

  • this is too good.

  • 2010 'till they come to the US :( seems so very far away!! Last time I saw them live was in 2003!!!

  • I don't know where you live, but they're coming to Chicago in May 2009. You might want to check your info again...

  • Thanks badsinger17, I got confused with the touring dates for Starsailor. I got my tickets to the Fillmore in San Francisco! I can't wait!!

  • Awesome.

  • How can Britain produce so much amazing music ? Look at Doves, Elbow, I am Kloot all from Manchester, such an obvious fertile ground for beautiful poetry, and music. Let's not even mention, the roses, happy mondays, smiths, oasis (ok not my cup of tea). I love the doves and they've got a knew album coming out soon, yipeeeee.

  • Great Music. See Also:

    Athens, Georgia

    Sacramento, California

    Austin, Texas

  • You forgot to mention 'James'...but then, they came from Yorkshire in England...or at least, Tim Booth did.....I like Latin music, we just don't get much of it over here :(

  • Check out Portland Oregon. Dandy Warhols, Modest Mouse, M. Ward, Decemberist's, Shins, Sleater-Kinney and Elliot Smith (RIP), and Blitzen Trapper.

  • I agree , what is it about Manchester ? not forgetting , The Buzzcocks, Magazine, Joy division, New order,James, have to agree with you about oasis, they do nothing for me either.

  • Hmmm...I agree that Manchester has a rich history for producing bands, but I think that you will find that Tim Booth - the songwriter and front man from 'James' - is a Yorkshireman...born and bred in Harrogate, and a proud Leeds United fan...:)

  • Doves, Gomez, The Beta band... great bands!

  • belting tune!!!

  • cool video

  • I've just been going through my CD Collection and have put on Lost Souls and listened to this song for the first time in years.... utterly awesome song, still sends shivers up my back even now. Can't wait for album NO: 4.

    :)

  • Keep on keeping on.

  • great video

  • awesomee doves :D

    iloveyouu :)

  • What a tune! One of the best indie songs of all time, truly epic!

  • Majestic.

  • Hard to believe I bought this single 10 years ago this year! Thanks for the memories guys, looking forward to the new album. All the best.
