how to make a pvc water rocket

Good rocket except there's no way of knowing how it launches. What is the red box?

How do you compress the air? What the the hose at the base connect to?

I'm trying to make it but I cant compress it enough.

nice for a beginner, and i dont mean that in a bad way like some on here. reduce the nozle size to about half of what you have it and add fins and a nose cone. then when its done try increasing your pressure . youll find that its capable of a lot more that what you already accomplished. good luck. and keep up the good work.

3. How much water and air do you put in.

Fins would help out a lot as well, but how much pressure are you adding and then how much water is in there. If you are using optimal amounts I would suggest again another fitting for a smaller nosle that is not entirely smaller yet enough to hold some water throughout flight. What the rockets does in your vid is more of an impulse, but great idea!

Nice try, but hmm PVC is too heavy to fly. Nice for potato cannons though.

Don't PVC cement things that aren't made of PVC. The Gardena quick disconnects are made of ABS; I don't know about yours.

Nice effort but the weight and water holding capacity of your rocket will make it inferior to the average pop bottle rockets. The only advantage your rocket would have would be being able to withstand more pressure but that has been overcome by reinforcing them. Keep building rockets!

Good explanation, try adding fins to get it to fly straighter, and you'll get more distance too. Just look up "cardboard cut out cp", and it will tell you how big to make the fins.  Maybe a smaller bore in the nozzle would help too.

in this rocket it goes higher, launched at a higher psi and you dont have to hold on to it before the launch because of the launcher wich i followed on water rocket index. you fill it by sticking a 2 liter bottle onto the nozzle and turning it upside down and the water will pour down into the rocket. Soon im going to make this same desighn in a 4 inch diameter with a screw on cap so it will make it easier to fill up

The rocket flew a little unstable. If you add fins close to the nozzle the performance will increase signifiantly.
