@sadieblooming. Thank you. I won't give up on it then. How did you unlock it? When I took the gun back to the dealer, the owner couldn't figure it out. The next morning I got a call from one of his employees telling me that it's fixed. Just needed oil and a good clean. I haven't shot it yet.
@busch327 One of these methods will unlock it. I took out the safety. I even pull the slide upside down. Pulling the slide slowly randomly would unlock it. It's so random. There is no way to tell which method works.
Just don't bend your spring, which is easy to do. If it locks again, try putting the spring back in at a different clock position. From 9 0`clock to 3 0`clock.
@busch327 It recently locked on me again. This time I'd figure it out. Just remove the barrel and adjust the recoil spring from 9 0`clock to 3 0`clock or the correct position. This spring needs a guide rod :(
You'll find more annoyance when the slide doesn't lock back on the last round. There is a $10 kit for that. The kit also allows you take out the mag out to strip it or do whatever you want with it. I should make a video on that.
@sadieblooming Thats awesome, I had no idea! I would gladly pay $10 to make sure I stop dry firing after the last round! Thanks for that, Id love to see a video!
I took my brand new HP22A to the range for the first time today. On the 42nd round, this gun complaetely failed. Slide would only move about an inch either way. Mag would not release, it didn't do anything. Almost like it locked itself. Actually it did lock itself. Nothing in the mag, nothing in the chamber. I took it back to the dealer. They are sending it back to the factory. In the 42 rounds I did put through it. It was very accurate. I was very impressed. I can't wait for it to be fixed.
@busch327 oh man that sucks! Thats why im glad for that life time warranty! You should be able to get a few more rounds out of the next one, Im at around 6,000! Ive beens shooting it alot recently, rimfire is all I can afford at the moment, lol. Let me know what happens, Im curious to know how they handle this. I have heard they are great! Someone on a message board wore his out over 11 years of shooting, they sent him a new one, no questions asked. $130 isnt bad for a 22 for life! Take care!
@busch327 Mine locked itself like yours maybe four or five times already. It cleared itself after a minute or so. I think the spring locked up. My spring was really bent so they sent me free new ones.
@busch327 You probably just had a bur in the slide. Mine was the same way, but after some wiggling and taking it apart, I filed them down and it's smooth as all hell, now.
is that gold tinted or is that ur lighting in the room?

Great review man!
I'm probably going to pick up a .22 revolver. I sold my Sig Mosquito and I need a cheap .22 to replace it.
