@bioshockkid Thanks a lot for asking and you're right, there is a lot to cover! I don't know when the next show will be unfortunately. I no longer work in produce and instead I know work full time producing shows like this for others. Hopefully I can record some more in the future. Thanks so much for watching!
@justhere67 sorry for the delay. Ripe pineapples should be a yellow/golden color with no blemishes which usually take the form of brown soft spots on the outer skin.
Also pick one that has still has green leaves, not brown and shrivled.
And check the bottom of the pineapple. On pineapples that are overripe you will see mold spots starting to form. Avoid these pineapples.
Oh and make sure your pineapple is heavy! Heavy = lots of juices;)
because it's fun, duh! LOL, Kidding...You are observant and right, it is not necessary but it's still a good tip in case that's all people want to do. Thanks for watching!
Definitely! Give it a shot but just be careful with that knife. I was taught this method from a classically trained french chef and it seems to be the best way to cut and core a pineapple.
Let me know how it goes and I if you like the other episodes considering subscribing the show here on YouTube or on itunes or anywhere else you watch online video, it's all free!
When are you coming back? there's alot of fruit in the world.

If you're going to cut both sides, why bother manually removing the leaves?
