  • Kim Mitchell-- now that was an excellent concert. :)

I feel bad for kids today. They have no real music to look back on when they are adults.

  • nice hair kimbo... LOL

  • if i could find a bic lighter,

i would light it over my laptop till the song ends.

  • Fact: This song cannot be Shazaam'd! After at least 20 attempts, only on result came up, which was totally wrong.

  • Great vibe! Ty for coming to Aurora High School! Rootabega and electric meat for everyone!

  • Salt Saint Marie !:) So did I, at the Eastgate I think.

  • Saw this live in Sault Ste. Marie. These guys are what real rock is. Please bring back this kind of music.

  • That keyboard player is rocking an Akai AX-80, that synth is badass!

  • You f....g bet!!

  • not many new songs out there today that beats this CLASSIC

  • great tune!

  • We're really musically deprived here south of the Canadian border. While you guys had Kim Mitchell on the radio, we had to suffer through Boys 2 Men, Milli Vanilla and all kinds of synth pop crap. If it weren't for an episode of Kids In The Hall, I'd have never heard of Kim Mitchell and would have gone a lifetime with a void in my musical life from a lack of awareness of his music and exposure to Peter Fredette's voice.

  • canadas song writer great song

  • SEE YOU IN BROOKS ALBERTA KIM!

  • Kim is now an Afternoon Drive DJ on Toronto's Iconic and legendary FM Rock Staiton Q107.

  • We're proud of you in Canada Kim!

  • God I miss the 80's!! I was 19 when this came out so I was in my prime party year's ... We played the shit out this...Now i'm 46 and things just not the same. O well that's the way she go's...the way she fuckin go's!! Growing up is over rated . THANK YOU KIM!!!

  • The first time I heard this song was on an early sony am/fm walkman being broadcast in fm stereo and it was....fabulous!!!

  • went to see them back in 80s at a concert not many people there but they were awsome. i came out happy to hear good live music.

  • remember the time Kim played with Van Halen and Eddie asked him for some advice. Kim told him not to smoke in bed, lol. true , humble , class

  • 10 ppl missed the like button by accident cause they were swaying too much listening to this song... it's okay, i understand

  • Pye Dubois was a part of Max Webster with Mitchell

  • Good thing I watched this video. I know now that most of the vocals are Peter Fredette`s.

  • Comment removed

  • sure sounds like pink floyd. i bet floyd was shittin' his pants and spitting nails when he heard it. ha ha ha ...or maybe not. cool song anyway.

  • If I was a barmaid in the early 80s at a rock pub in Ottawa...I would have liked to jump Peter Fredettes bones. His octives give me leaky eyes *GRIN*. Kodos to Kim Max Webster Mitchel for picking him for his vocal mix. This song and my "attraction" to Mr Ferdettes voice/smile/intellect turned me on to Max Webster's "blue river liquer shine" and "diamonds diamonds" and the treats with Rush (my favorite band ever) thus making me a lifelong Kim Mitchel fan awell as a Peter Fredette fan "WINK"

  • O.P.P hat! yeaah ontario

  • that keyboard player has an incredible voice, to bad there isn't talent like this on the radio anymore.

  • Someone buy him a cheeseburger....fast!

  • pink and baby blue. thats all i need.

  • Best bass line ever in the intro, i have been thryin for years to loop it into its own song

  • love the pants.

  • got Pet can sing, he was just as good with Streetboy

  • fantastico temazo!!

  • Love this song and Peter Fredette's vocals (I always want to sing along). Kim's guitar licks are awesome too.

  • 8 people are too blind to see

  • One of my fav KM tunes- love the guitar work-as usual- sweet licks and great tone always.

  • they were an awesome band back in theday, my fav

  • were is peter fredette these days?

  • @lindaroth still touring with kim

  • At 2:48, Kim must be on the CN Tower...

  • 3 Canadian music videos (that I am aware of) were filmed outside at the same building used in this video..(Sunnyside Pavillion on Lakeshore Blvd, Toronto)

    Kim Mitchell- All We Are

    Chalk Circle- April Fool

    Tu-I Used To Cry

  • I saw them last night in Ottawa... was so happy to be there.. 20 ft away from them!

  • Had the awesome privledge of seeing these guys ALL the time when I lived in the border town of Niagara FAlls!! Man, they were GREAT!

  • Kim Mitchell is THE Canadian National Treasure of rock.

All the more so for his seeming disdain of celebrity...

    Thanks "kurdtss" for the memories!

  • who is the lead singer? AND WHY IS HE NOT famous?

  • @lindaroth

Kimbo is singing the verses, and the towering Peter Fredette is handling the chorus. Great recording all 'round; and every bit as good live...

  • Spent 4 months in northwest ontario on Favorable near Sandy Lake . Listen to all the time and still do! Hope everyone there is doing fine! ROCK ON !

  • This is true all we have is to be all we are and all we can be.

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CANADIAN SONGS I HAVEN'T HEARD A GOOD CANADIAN SONG IN A LONG TIME.JUST GIVE ALL WE ARE.

  • Damn, hardly anyone here in the States knows about this guy and I only recently learned about him from the Trailer Park Boys, god bless 'em..

  • Ah baby! Gene Simmons is right! Rock on Canada!

  • This tune has always had a transcendental effect on me. It's really an amazing tune. It's chillin and rowdy all at the same time.

  • Um that was wonderful thank u

  • If you're having a beer, listening to this tune, you just.... might be... a Canadian~>>

    F*ck the haters...they suck.

  • Just sitting here going down memory lane getting blasted on Black label Supreme. What an age of great music the 80,s were - minus the hair bands, Flock of Seagulls, and the other no talent PRODUCED bands. Kim was one of the best. OHHH... the memories!

  • Still love seeing the band. Always liked Peter Fredette and think it's great he's still in the band.

All we are is still one of my favorite Mitchell tunes.

See you in Ottawa this summer.

  • Mitchell rocks! He seems so genuine but I'm glad he shaved his head, looks so much better than he did in the 80s.

  • Listen to Kim on Q107 !

    Mike Higgs

  • Pye Dubois is the back up singer.

  • Actually it is Peter Fredette, Pye Dubois wrote with Kim Mitchell

  • @kurdtss kudos for being right.

  • that kid on back up vocals is large. was that Steve Perry's stunt double?

  • could anybody possible get the tabs for this amazing song?

  • I saw Kim and Co. in concert in 1984. The sound was superb. They did almost every song off Akimbo Alogo and some Max Webster standards. Kim and the guys only played for 1 hour and 20 minutes that night. Everyone I went with thought this was a little short but liked the performance. I agree that this music could have broken big in the U.S. given the chance.

  • Kim sure lucked out when he discovered this unknown musician to sing this song. The vibe in the studio must have been unreal. I can just imagine Kim thinking "wow, I'm going to make a lot of money out of this one song".

  • r u dense or something thats one of his band members

  • I use the Akai AX80 for thick basslines on many of my songs....mispayse dot kom slash blueinvention

  • Akai AX80 <3

  • Ah good memories...Can't wait for Kim to sign my Max Webster vinyl's at the Ex this summer, Lol.

  • no disrespect to Kim, but Peter Fredette's voice makes this song. He is amazing! I read that Ed Robertson from Barenaked ladies is in this video at the age of 14? I can't find him, maybe in the audience?? anybody know?

  • I would say The music and lyrics is what makes this song, very well produced. Peter certainly did a great job, but it could have been done with out him, but not Kim. They could have used a female to sing peter's part, which might have been interesting.

  • kim is good back in his day ,coming from Sarnia town boy he came along ways back than, and now and again it's nice to here from him is best kit was ,his big greak go for soda.

i lived in sarnia fior 17 yrs , he was smaart to go with his dream and take his music away

  • pete's voice gives me goosebumps.

  • omg does Pete ever sing the shit out of this song

  • one of kims best songs

  • should be and is to me a rock anthem,,,,ahhh Canadian summers...Mitch is the shizzz 4 sure,,,rock Hall of Fame

  • Right up there with Hendrix, the Beatles, Stones, Jeff Beck & Rod! One of the most powerful soul ballads ever recorded in the

history of Canadian Rock! Quintessential writing and arranging, not to mention some of the best sounds ever put to tape in the eighties! Thanks Kim!

    D.J.Bingham

  • I dont know if someone else already wrote something similar, but Fredette was the singer of a group called "Metropolis", which had a theme song for Friday the 13th part 8 called "darkest side of the night" check it out if you like 80's music. and if you're checking out this video, I'm sure you like 80's stuff already.

  • WTG Kim keep on rockin........Play some Frank Zappa on Q107 DUDE

  • The only guy I would put on this same level of song writing...is Kip Winger. Seriously.

  • Kim Mitchell rules man, i think Peter Fredette is one of the best back up vocalist i have ever heard!

  • did peter fredette not ever think of having a solo career with a voice like that?

  • he's a keyboardist... he needed mitchell

  • Yes, Peter did, but not in music. If you remember he was with Butler prior to Kim's band. But then he got into computer design.

  • He´s got an Akai AX 80!!!!

  • I think this is his best song

  • Comment removed

  • I just wanna know why Peter Fredette's always tweaking the keyboard... I don't really care since he's unreal...

  • anyone ever notice how tight kim's jeans are? nuttss!!pardon the pun! he's cool!!

  • Eveybody wore em that way in the 80's

  • I remember when Mitchell came to the Port Credit Arena. It was awesome. Everyone was getting high, and he was still rocking the OPP hat.

  • When Peter Fredette's voice kicks in, its still sends shivers down my spine after all these years - awesome song.

  • Peter Fredette is awesome and he performed the main song in 1989 for Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan. The 80's was truely the best rock era!!!

  • isn't Pete short for Peter, people are so exact my god.

    Is PETER, Portuguese?

I'm an 80's child, born in 83 and I'm so glad my parents were and still are very cool, they exposed me to a lot of music and ever since I could pick up a drum stick I have been a drummer so thank you mom and pop for supporting me and blessing me with rock music and not this hiphop bullshit..

    Viva Italia

  • shit can that bass player (pete fredette) sing.

  • peter freddete makes the song so good.

  • so hypnotic

  • I love this song!

  • Who plays drums on this? very powerful!

  • Paul Delong I believe:)

  • hey just in case you guys dont know april wine and kim mitchell are playin at this years ribfest here in sarnia, right after bayfest, and its free ,anyways i think april wine is the 17th and kim is the 18th ... check it out......long live rock

  • ah man, that makes me miss livin' in the shwa! these bands are so underrated out west . . .

  • haha as in oshawa?

  • @andwhoa

Not completely true...I live in Van, and a lot of us out here LOVE Kim Mitchell..

  • @andwhoa wtf??? I've been a fan since I was a kid and have lived in Vancouver my entire life - I know a lot of other Vancouverites who are fans.

  • @andwhoa I used to live in bonerville beside you in the shwa :-) I do miss all the bands that used to play at the civic aud as well! good ole days :-)

  • @andwhoa Just curious to know what you mean by the shwa

  • @hardon70 he means oshawa, ontario..locally its called the shwa

  • yah his name is Peter Fredette .He has no desire to release his own album he could but is happy with what he is doing, says"kinda like work then"

  • I didn't know that Kim didn't sing the high parts in the chorus himself. I am proud of all the wonderful rock up here. When I performed this song with my highschool band I sang the whole thing, because i thought that's how he did it, lol

  • Great song!

  • Im Mean he has done a lot for himself lol i can't spell very well.

  • Just another Great Canadian band. Kim Mitchell has done atlost for himself and has produced some awsome canadian rock !

  • Being a Canadian, I'm truely proud of what Kim Mitchel, formerly lead singer of Max Webster, has introduced then with yet another awesome Canadian band. By the way, the key board singer is originally from Aylmer, Qc (Ottawa-Gatineau) and his name is Matt Frenette. Look up the band & their songs and you won't be disappointed.

  • Isn't Matt Frenette the drummer from Loverboy? I'm pretty sure the guy's name is Peter Fredette.

  • I agreee with you, its Peter Fredette, everyone thinks his name Pete or Matt and their both wrong.

  • the keyboard player has a great voice. i'd kill to sing like him.

  • I always liked his OPP hat. This song is amazing!

  • the long hair rocked!

  • That bass sound is unique to kim mitchell cos no other band gave the AKAI AX80 syhth a chance. What a shame. Pete knew what it was capable of though. Check out my tunes on myspace / blueinvention to hear my songs using the AX80

  • My cat had Kittens to this song!!!

  • Kim was wearing skinnys b4 it was fashionable for men to wear them lol. But seriously, love the song and Kim Mitchell is very talented.

  • Well..PinkFloyd47...you sure enlightened me!!!!

..I saw Kim Mitchell..when he played here in Ottawa..I do miss his long hair!!I bet he also misses his long hair!!:-)I agree,Canada Rocks..in the music business..
