A slot machine fits Love Connection b/c it would have two sides on one screen. On one side is a group of males, the other side is a group of females. When the slots finished spinning, it would pair up two people (both of whom are of the opposite sex) and see if there is a love connection or not.

And IMO, I thought the Slots intro was very creative, though the Animated Hearts intro, (which started after the Slots Intro in fall 1988) was almost as equally creative as the Slots.

This is also the episode where it was also distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures, just the year after LC, and another game show were "under contract" with. Love Connection was one of the best game shows ever to have a lot of opening sequences, including a "slot machines," of couples who match them up.

I agree. This is the one that has a slot machine where couples either make the connection or they just don't hit it off in 1987. That's also the same year that LC is also distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures, no joke about that!

no, Lorimar-Telepictures began distributing LC full-time in 1986, although L-T accidently slipped up on a few 1985 eps. on GSN.

B/C Lorimar-Telepictures also began distributing "The People's Court" (w/ Judge Joe Wapner) around that same time as well.

and also the original S1 spiel tag "Sometimes our dates have a happy ending! And others...well there's just an ending!" is brought back for the Slots intro as well.

Also, there was two other variations of the "Slots" intro. The 1st one was w/ the original 1983-87 LC theme song (1986-87 season), the other was having one of the slot windows having a shot of Chuck Woolery in one of the windows.

It's also weird how when the 1987-91 synth theme debuted, they would still use the old introducing couples cues and commercials bumpers from the 1983-87 years, but yet when the 1991 jazzed-up theme came out, they updated all the commercial and introducing couples cues.
