He was pure-hearted and funny but sadly misguided about the ways to conserve animals. He shouldn't have tampered with nature the way he did. I feel sad for his wife and kids.

@veggiewarriors I wouldn't say that he was misguided. He wanted to show the world that animals like snakes, crocs or whatsoever aren't monsters that kill and eat people. he gave everybody around the globe appreciation for dreaded and misassessed animals and showed the importance of saving endangerd species. He lived a dangerous life and he was certainly aware of that, but it was worth it. He saved surely thousends of lives with his anti-venom projects and his rescue team.

You've just proven what I've been saying all along. You're right- Steve did give out the message that crocodiles aren't monsters that kill. That's precisely where his fault lies. Because it's the wrong message to give. Ask the relatives of victims who've been killed or injured by snakes and crocs if the animals are monsters.

And his dangerous life wasn't worth it. It cost him his life. Plenty of other conservationists rescue animals without jumping on top of them.

@veggiewarriors you got your opinion and me mine. he always mentioned; never do things that i do. he showed us animals nobody knows much about, but if we fortunately encounter that animal, how to react. Have you actually seen any docs from steve? he showed that animals just bite and attack if they feel threatened, and not because their unpredictable monsters.

also, he didn't jump on top of any animals exept of strong crocs. and it's just the way any other croc trainer would handle a wild croc.

"How to react if we encounter an animal"? None of his experiences were mere encounters. Those animals pretty much kept to themselves till he went and fell on top of them. They were provoked into aggression.

I have seen enough docs from Irwin. And u've reenforced my argument again. It's the wrong message to give that animals are not unpredictable. Animals ARE unpredictable. Steve would be alive today if he could've predicted the behavior of the stingray that killed him.

@veggiewarriors yes they kept to themselves until he came and showed the world where they live and where to find, how they react if they face humans. I think I dont have to restate myself. Of course he lived a risky live, but he was quite aware of that. It was not predictable that a sting ray would kill him that way cuz he wasn't acquainted to those animals, that's all. If the animals he handled with everyday weren't predictable he would been killed already 1000 times.

It isn't rocket science to figure out how a crocodile or snake will react if u yank it out of its personal space. Any animal will respond aggressively much in the same way a human being will snap if u keep prodding him/her with a stick repeatedly.

He wasn't accquainted with stingrays? That's a direct testament to his level of recklesness considering he sought it out and actually went swimming above it, the day of his death. It's stupid to be that whimsical.
