Kid - "theoretical" doesn't mean "abstract." It means "possible." When the hurricanes hit he said he would not go down and help clean up at all. I am sorry a third party would be great but Ron Paul is a joke. The reason we keep electing idiots is because most of America is full of idiots, apathetic to real life issues.
Thats because our government shouldn't have the ability to give out blank checks with our name on it. Disaster relief is one thing, but rebuilding is up to charity and citizens, not the government.
He thinks there should be less government, less spending, and the removal of artificial inflation.
Maybe more citizens would pitch in if 70% of them weren't living paycheck to paycheck due to 2500% inflation in 80 years?
Wouldn't it be great if we all woke up on the day after the election to find out that Ralph Nader won? Don't the the stinking Republicans and Democrats brainwash you into thinking that you're throwing away your vote.
totally agree. Vladimir Putin is the only one standing in the way of the NWO, they can,t mess with Russia. Ron Paul would have made a great president .
Truly excellent speech as usual. The most informed(or honest)American congressman I have ever seen. This man is intelligent ,wants to reinstate the laws of the constitution ,overturn the poilcys the Bush administration implemented which take Americans rigths away etc etc
Most importantly he is extremley experienced with economic matters and the problem of the Federal reserve!!
Yes, clearly because I didn't write anything down is because I can't back it up. He took a statistical number "60% of American people are unhappy with their choices", which itself is a vague remark, but then goes on to say "if you take the total number of americans, and then the percentage that vote, and then the percentage that vote for a candidate" followed by "half the people who vote for the president vote for the lesser of two evils" and then the 16% remark. All politicians do it, even RP
I realize how smart the roman emperor Caligula was to run his horse for the Roman senate. Im certain that a horse, or possibly even a pig would do a better job than McCain or Obama.
I'm a liberal who has come to like Obama. I say that meaning.. exactly what Paul is talking about. Obama will do less damage, in my opinion, then McCain. I actually dislike Obama. I also dislike that I agree with a republican.. but fuck political party when somebody like Ron Paul comes out of the woodwork. Ron Paul made me realize I'm not a democrat.. I'm an Independent.
armatu: Obama is essentially the same as McCain... war would continue, no improvements on monetary policy, more inflation, more debt.
In a fair fight, Ron Paul would win in a landslide. The networks were flooded with requests for Ron Paul.
"People get the governments they deserve." We deserve a lot better than the lesser of two evils. The silent majority doesn't really want either McCain or Obama. They want Ron Paul!!!
I disagree about getting the government we deserve. WE deserve far better than what we are getting because the media are not covering the "minor" candidates. Americans need to wake up and read between the lines. watch this video please. watch?v=MTN3s2iVKKI&feature=related
I see it the other way around. If you watch this video Ron Paul basically said the chairmen of the debates are locking out the other candidates. I'm not sure what you mean by a proportional system. I see no reason why we couldn't hold a national election each year. We could make it a national holiday and vote on issues such ass amnesty for illegals, affirmative action, welfare, socialized medicine. That would be a vast improvement. There would be no confusion about waht americans wanted then.
hey armatu. The lesser of two evils is still evil. As long as people are stuck in your mindset nothing will "change". We've GOT to break the strangle hold the two parties have on our system and the only way is not to vote for them.
*****EVERYONE: Put a RON PAUL sign in your front yard.
IF we do this there will be a GROUNDSWELL to GET him ON the ballot in EVERY state and he could WIN. America is STARVING to hear his message. It would convince Bob Barr to STEP ASSIDE and let RON PAUL head the Libertarian ticket. Barr's candidacy is sucking wind, and will get NOWHERE, and he NEEDS to STEP ASSIDE and let RON PAUL head the ticket.

Ron Paul is a man of his word, and I agree that we are truly blessed to have him. We are witnessing a living legend. I hope the message he gets out there turns on the lights for some people. If the majority of people are intelligent yet apathetic as he says, we need to do something to change that. That is the only way there can be hope. The only thing that will do this is a mass shift in conscious awareness... or somehow organizing this knowledge and people under a new gov't.
I really like Paul's idea about all the 3rd-party candidates unifying around the effort to break the Dem/Rep duopoly.
I think a great idea would be for all these candidates to form ONE party, wherein they all compete for the nomination. The candidate with the second-highest number of votes becomes his (or her) running-mate. If they win the presidency and vice-presidency, the vp wouldn't have to _serve_ the president, but go his own way as President of the Senate. They could even have debates.
If McCain Wins...RON PAUL WILL Not B ABLE to run again for re-election in 2012!!! We Can NOT allow this to happen... to help out and For more info please visit my homepage by clicking on "PublicFoodie"
that's exactly what independent party is against. Bad idea.
The idea of an independent is that anyone that wants to run can run. When nominees for parties happen is when corporate whoring for campaign money happens and would put a lot of independents out or not able to run at all.
Ralph, Ron, & Cynthia: Now they're planning the crime of the century Well what will it be? Read all about their schemes & adventuring It's well worth the fee So roll up and see How they rape the universe How they've gone from bad to worse Who are these men* of lust, greed, & glory? Rip off the masks & let's see But that's not right, oh no, what's the story? There's you & there's me That can't be right
Study history, people... in the late 1800s the Progressive Party stood for such things as civil service reform, child labor laws, minimum wage laws, 40-hour week, etc. They won very few elections BUT their ideas were co-opted and adopted by both major parties. Today, the Libertarian Party and its ideals are in the same position, and Bob Barr is polling the best numbers ever by an LP Presidential candidate. A good showing by the LP *will* influence US politics in subtle yet profound ways.
Ron Paul certainly seems to be an educated man. I like him and many of his views. But he could desperately use a speech coach. Being a more effective communicator would help him a great deal. Reagan was a perfect example of this. He could persuade even his enemies to listen to him.
I am afraid that if we let lobbiests and special interests in Washington, by electing them, then we are in trouble. I wanted to write in RP on my ballot in Nov. I have since come to realize that staying neutral and voting 3rd party is something we cannot afford. You can hate Obama all you like, but if you vote for Obama, its a vote against McCain to keep him out of the WH. We have to take small steps, be neutral or vote 3rd party and we will go backwards.
I'm for Ron Paul...but very discouraged about not having him in the race. Not sure what to do now? Not sure how to vote. I'd hate to put McCain and Lipstick on a Pig in office by default...any advice?
I'm in the same boat - undecided as to how to vote now that the best man for POTUS, Ron Paul, is not officially in the race. But we differ in that I would hate to put Obama in office by default. I'm thinking of writing in Paul, just so I can say when either McCain or Obama wins and screws things up worse than they already are (which I think they're BOTH apt to do) I will have the small consolation of knowing I didn't vote for either of the evils offered by the GOP or the Dems.
this mess represents an intelligence factor that clearly corresponds with the american schooling apparatus. the people that f'd the economy up are supposedly well educated and still, person's can emulate the facade of "smarts" with their blogs calling a man who pointed out that the rice paper and fire will soon meet, a kook. Ron Paul being a kook is just an ignorant man-made echo by men and women walking on a rice paper tight-rope in gasoline draws balancing lit matchsticks on their noses
What I mean is, people should not vote for parties, which many base their votes on. Theres nothing in our Constitution that says a person has to be apart of a particular group in order to run. Yet today that is the mind set that most of us have, "If you don't have a party then you're independent or undecided, therefore you have little say" etc.
To run without party support would not hinder your freedom of speech and you can still be apart of a group but should be separate of the electoral process.
"They" should also be a independent group that can organize the debates and such. Ron Paul, in part 1:40 to about 3:40, describes the reason. I believe it should we should address it.
I agree with some of your sentiment. "What I mean is, people should not vote for parties, which many base their votes on." That's fine.
But that's not what you said in your earlier post. Your point came across as parties must be "banned." That's a dangerous statement to make lightly. It's one that resorts to violence by government and sounds of socialistic philosophy. I was just calling attention to it.
I think you are misunderstood. He is basically saying "America, we now know these candidates are frauds." And if you listen to this video about 1:10 into the video, he said that McCain would'nt do as much damage as the other candidate. (Obama) Both are the terrorists. For the first time in a long time, a third party candidate like Bob Barr has a chance at becoming President. God bless him and Ron Paul for this Revolution. We need it!
I understand what you mean. If anything that was just a comment out of frustration. In reality I would like to educate those to think beyond parties. Even if you agree with some philosophy of a particular group, if they do something you do not agree with you are stuck with it and in the end feel obligated to support it. This is the "Support our party no matter what" mentality. The only reason I get from McCain supporters as to why Ron Paul supporters should vote/endorse them; Party Unity.
It would be interesting if there was a "United Third Candidacy" group. You can vote for any of the 4 candidates and the winner of those votes will be the representative of the group which will automatically gain all the other votes. Think of it as a "party system within a party". The other candidates however, will become sort of advisors, to limit the leader, to stay on course of what the parties have in common. The leader/president must gain 2/3 of their support to push for different policies.
They took the medicine wheel, the scinetist wont tell us how they make things, either will the doctors tell us how they make teh machine that goes, 'ping'.
I like Ron Paul, but I have to totally disagree on this one. There are basically 2 candidates now - one of which will become our next president, whether we like that idea or not. IMO, there is a very big difference between the two, and McCain would definitely be the one to bring MUCH GREATER harm to this country. To me, if you vote 3rd party, you might as well just open the Whitehouse doors and let the military man and his clueless VP walk right in. Either way, God help us these next 4 years!!
Yea, but what is he expected to do? Just give up? There is an unavoidable honesty about the man, including in his cause. Efforts like the one above might indeed turn out to be futile, but he isn't just being stubborn; he's genuinely attempting to spread hope. I admire it.
You're missing my point. Sure, he should stand up for his believes and his cause, and if I were him, I would be doing the same thing. But from my viewpoint (and hopefully from the majority of other U.S. voters as well), there are much more urgent matters to consider right now. First and foremost, is preventing another imperialist from running this country further into the ground over the next 4 years.
I just wonder how on earth he and others can beat the corporates who have bought America's political process. How do you lever them out of power when they have given themselves the power to just exclude anyone who isn't in their consensus?
It was also good to hear him say "Obama isn't for change!". If Obama was he might actually have policies on America's borders, oil dependency and Nafta that are actually different. But then he'd never be allowed near power.
Fuck your mainstream propaganda! Fuck your fake currency! Fuck Mcbama! Fuck Sarah Palin... No, but really I mean it. Everyone with an I.D, SSC Card or Libray Card should get to do it bangbus style!!
TheRebelGardenerUK, why don't you think before you talk? Ron Paul will not run as a 3rd party candidate because if he changes his party affiliation, he will lose his seat in the house. If that were to happen, then we wouldn't have anyone to give us a voice.
Hey fellow people of the world.. Pleace stop arguing about bush, obama mcCain and stuff like that. Go out and find ways to make them play The beatles again. On the radio and tv. Request songs like Imagine and let it be. Start the union for peace in you're self pleace. Feed the homeless in youre area. Thats a good start
after they see the bullshit of whichever one wins they will run to this manit will be a revolution of the american people and real american people will take over this country how it should be
Not enough time to get everyone to vote for an alternate third party such as Ron Paul.
Q. Why does time seem to go by so fast?
Q. How do you 'slow-time down'?

Fellow Americans, we cannot let McCain into the White House. Even if you don't trust/like Obama, you have to realize that McCain is just Bush 2.0. McCain voted 90% of the time with Bush, and if you don't believe me just Google it and find out for yourself. If we have 4 more years of Bush/McCain the economy will collapse, we will start more wars that we cannot afford and most of all we will lose our true freedom. Voting for Obama may not be winning, but it sure is better than losing.
Please visit: youtube's /user/PublicFoodie - She was a Ron Paul supporter who's now for OBAMA. Curious? Check it out. Here's a hint, you need 270 electoral votes to win which RP unfortunately :( cannot get. And you don't need to even like Obama, but it's a vote to keep McCain out of the white house. Some voted for Kerry just to keep Bush out of the WH. Think the election's already decided? Get an absentee ballot ordered (HAND COUNTED VOTES).
The famous preamble, includes the ideas and ideals that were principles of the Declaration. It is also an assertion of what is known as the right of revolution: that is, people have certain rights, and when a government violates these rights, the people have the right to alter or abolish that government, And Now is the Time to take our country back from the money people
the money he raised he spent on campaigning, and yes, there was alot left. He has now started campaign for liberty and held a convention in mpls, probably cost him a couple 100 bucks. Of course, there is a possibility he is a freemason, I wouldn't be rational if I didn't think that, but it makes absolutely no sense. He is out blowing the whistle on all these people, educating the youth on their rights. It makes more sense you have affiliations with these organizations, really
RP is a free mason? who paid you to spread such foolishness? where do you get your facts? from youtube videos of deathskulls and heavy metal music playing? Let me do something you're not doing...presenting some facts. The reason RP won't run for 3rd party is because he doesn't have the funds nor the time due to how the system is set up. He is also a congressman. Running for 3rd party requires alot of money. Ehm, also, listen to what he says in the vid about partaking in debates.... lol?
hmm, I have refreshed and watched this video 3 times now and it still remains at 21870 views.... Pretty sure a video like this would have more views than that in 6 days compared to other RP vids who get like 200K views in 1 week.
"But non-regulation has led to the banking problems we have now"
The Federal Reserve system allows banks to create money from nothing and loan it out at interest. It is the source of these problems because it is a fraudulent monetary system.
Ron Paul wants to abolish the Fed and promotes a sound monetary system.
Obama's foreign policy is no different than McCain's.
first of all non-regulation has led to shit. It is federal reserve inflationary monetary policy that has led to our recession. secondly Obama favors more troops in Afghanistan and he is open to attacks on Iran and Pakistan. Obama is fake. true reformists loose, remember that. Dont feed into everything that is in the zeigiest of society.
we dont need an economy, we need free homes and free alternative fuel, free transportation, and growing our own food! and as the economy and market place crashes and dies this will become more and more possible! long live liberty. Byebye political leaders that lead to labor slavery called jobs
Fellow Americans, we cannot let McCain into the White House. Even if you don't trust/like Obama, you have to realize that McCain is just Bush 2.0. Voting 3rd party will split the Democrat vote and McCain WILL WIN. If we have 4 more years of Bush/McCain the economy will collapse, we will start more wars that we cannot afford and most of all we will lose our true freedom. Voting for Obama may not be winning, but it sure is BETTER than losing.
first of all, a thirds party could also screw Mccain over because Bob Barr, Baldwin, and Ron paul are taking conservative votes. second of all our economy will still be fucked up if we have Obama as a president because he will continue to monetary inflation fiscal policy of federal reserve like bush because he even admitted it. wake up, vote third party.
Because "Ron Paul doesn't care about black people" wouldn't fit. He's 150 years behind the time on racial issues, even on basic stuff like emancipation from slavery, segregation, and voting rights. David Duke endorsed him last year.

I'm an Independent.
armatu 3 years ago 2
armatu: Obama is essentially the same as McCain... war would continue, no improvements on monetary policy, more inflation, more debt.
4kab123 3 years ago 7
I disagree about getting the government we deserve. WE deserve far better than what we are getting because the media are not covering the "minor" candidates. Americans need to wake up and read between the lines. watch this video please. watch?v=MTN3s2iVKKI&feature=related
RAPSUCKS1738 3 years ago
the media won't cover minor parties because there is no chance they will get into parliament...
the problem is the two party system, this
is out of date, having the parliament controlled by one party and the presidency controlled by the other makes a dictatorship
the rest of the world has moved on from this, making a proportional system.
this would have all sorts of minority groups in govt, which would make america a million times better!!
ycats1000 3 years ago
I see it the other way around. If you watch this video Ron Paul basically said the chairmen of the debates are locking out the other candidates. I'm not sure what you mean by a proportional system. I see no reason why we couldn't hold a national election each year. We could make it a national holiday and vote on issues such ass amnesty for illegals, affirmative action, welfare, socialized medicine. That would be a vast improvement. There would be no confusion about waht americans wanted then.
RAPSUCKS1738 3 years ago

hey armatu. The lesser of two evils is still evil. As long as people are stuck in your mindset nothing will "change". We've GOT to break the strangle hold the two parties have on our system and the only way is not to vote for them.

They should ban the party system.
Seiku 3 years ago
**DEFEND YOUR ARGUMENT SEIKU**
- why should they ban the "party system?"
- who are "they" that will enforce such an edict?
- wouldn't such an action violate our constitutional rights to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly?
- and what do you recommend to take the place of political parties?
DyShez 3 years ago
What I mean is, people should not vote for parties, which many base their votes on. Theres nothing in our Constitution that says a person has to be apart of a particular group in order to run. Yet today that is the mind set that most of us have, "If you don't have a party then you're independent or undecided, therefore you have little say" etc.
Seiku 3 years ago
To run without party support would not hinder your freedom of speech and you can still be apart of a group but should be separate of the electoral process.
"They" should also be a independent group that can organize the debates and such. Ron Paul, in part 1:40 to about 3:40, describes the reason. I believe it should we should address it.
Seiku 3 years ago
Oops, error. I meant: I believe we should address it*
Sorry.
Seiku 3 years ago
I agree with some of your sentiment. "What I mean is, people should not vote for parties, which many base their votes on." That's fine.
But that's not what you said in your earlier post. Your point came across as parties must be "banned." That's a dangerous statement to make lightly. It's one that resorts to violence by government and sounds of socialistic philosophy. I was just calling attention to it.
DyShez 3 years ago
I think you are misunderstood. He is basically saying "America, we now know these candidates are frauds." And if you listen to this video about 1:10 into the video, he said that McCain would'nt do as much damage as the other candidate. (Obama) Both are the terrorists. For the first time in a long time, a third party candidate like Bob Barr has a chance at becoming President. God bless him and Ron Paul for this Revolution. We need it!
purplekoke 3 years ago
I understand what you mean. If anything that was just a comment out of frustration. In reality I would like to educate those to think beyond parties. Even if you agree with some philosophy of a particular group, if they do something you do not agree with you are stuck with it and in the end feel obligated to support it. This is the "Support our party no matter what" mentality. The only reason I get from McCain supporters as to why Ron Paul supporters should vote/endorse them; Party Unity.
Seiku 3 years ago
It would be interesting if there was a "United Third Candidacy" group. You can vote for any of the 4 candidates and the winner of those votes will be the representative of the group which will automatically gain all the other votes. Think of it as a "party system within a party". The other candidates however, will become sort of advisors, to limit the leader, to stay on course of what the parties have in common. The leader/president must gain 2/3 of their support to push for different policies.

JayKol914 3 years ago
Yea, but what is he expected to do? Just give up? There is an unavoidable honesty about the man, including in his cause. Efforts like the one above might indeed turn out to be futile, but he isn't just being stubborn; he's genuinely attempting to spread hope. I admire it.
NobodysSharper42 3 years ago 2
You're missing my point. Sure, he should stand up for his believes and his cause, and if I were him, I would be doing the same thing. But from my viewpoint (and hopefully from the majority of other U.S. voters as well), there are much more urgent matters to consider right now. First and foremost, is preventing another imperialist from running this country further into the ground over the next 4 years.
JayKol914 3 years ago
This guy just says it. The truth.

McCain voted 90% of the time with Bush, and if you don't believe me just Google it and find out for yourself.
