I agree completely. I find it annoying when someone says they’re a Doctor Who fan then complain that they don’t want to watch it without their Doctor in it, and every time I keep telling them “When Eccleston left there was exactly the same argument ‘Doctor Who would be over and Tennant would be rubbish’ it’s happening now and no doubt it will happen when Matt Smith decides to move on and be replaced”
Well, Matt Smith is now the Doctor and the show is now stronger than ever.
I love David Tennant as the Doctor. I also love Bill Hartnell, Pat Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann (though I hated the rest of the movie), Christopher Eccleston and Matt Smith. I think a lot of people are forgetting that the Doctor is always the same man. He just had his face changed around a little bit. ;)
One of the things I hated most about the RTD era was that it brought a somewhat unwelcome new batch of fans to the show - adolescent teenagers who watch television shows for the sole purpose of drooling over the attractive actors/celebrities who appear in them. They're the same kinds of people who watch shit like Hollyoaks and Skins, as well as all those dire reality programs like the X-Factor. I rather hope we've seen the last of them now that Tennant has gone.
(7th Doctor To 10th Doctor) are my favorite and i don't care if they quit because they made something special for all doctor who fans. I am syched up for Matt Smith and the new doctor who intro if some fans don't continue they are not true fans of doctor who.
I think the point is that *real* Doctow Who fans will miss DT but embrace the change. Whereas the Fanboys/girls/Tennanteenies (call them what you will) don't want him to leave.
As I said on another vid, I'm looking forward to the Golden Age of Moffat after the self-indulgence of RTD. :)
Tennant fanbrats piss me off. Sure, I've only been a fan for a few months, but I hate the fact that they've been trying to turn the Doctor into a sex symbol and obviously pandering to the batshit Yaoi fangirls *coughTorchwoodcough*. Let's hope Steven Moffat turns the series around. Give me thumbs down if you wish, but I'm just stating my opinion. I'm definitely looking forward to Matt Smith's tenure as the legendary Doctor.
I actually have very high hopes for Matt Smith, I'm looking forward to a new Doctor, there have been few episodes in which I liked David Tennant, (I know I'll probably get flamed for this) I do like some of it. The show will grow and evolve. (Heck I like Colin Baker, how terrible is that.) It's a shame because I've only just started to enjoy Tennant's episodes. But as you say, it'll go on. (My favorite bond was Lazenby.) Nice video :)
They're not going to boycott the show, its all talk with people like that! I know I as I said the same thing when Chris left. But here I am loving DT's doctor even more. I've learnt my lesson, so will they when Matt will blow them away with his performance. Don't worry :)
oooo yeah. I am with all the way buddy. No 1 can ever ever deny Davids sucess. But his time is up. I wish him all the best and know he will be fine in what ever eles he dose. And your right u dont have to be British to to love the show. Its a wroldwide sucess. Will miss DT but cant wait to see Matt and the Change.
