I know a method of mind over matter that works for me. I can't guarantee it would work for anyone else but as long as someone has enough mind control I don't see why it wouldn't. If you're interested I can talk it over with you through messages on youtube or elsewhere
Since you weren't specific about the dental problem, I will assume your body is trying to fight an infection. Dilute at least 2tbl spoons of table salt in a glass of very warm water(not hot), gargle 3-5 times for about a minute each, about 2-3 times a day. The brine solution inhibits bacterial growth and the iodine kills the rest. Then, do a rinse with ACT mouth wash. Don't eat/drink for 1/2 hour.I always end up with tooth problems when traveling to remote parts of the world. Hope this works.
My doctor (who speaks at conferences on longevity) thinks I am fine. The Dexxa machine where I did my lean body mass test thinks I am fine. My father who is 80 and still downhill skis and works, thinks I am fine. My husband who used to be a professional athlete thinks I am fine. So since I don't know what your qualifications are for your judgment, I won't be taking your recommendation or judgment on the subject.
Sorry I missed this. I hear dental pain is the worst, and unfortunately different from pain I've had. I suppose pot is out of the question? Have you tried shaved ice? If all else fails, fall gently into the pain. As you gain speed into the throbbing, add a four-beat rhythm. Tap it out. Then say it aloud: "pain. does. not. matter." "pain. does. not. matter." "pain. does. not. matter." "pain. does. not. matter." keep falling, don't shy away from it repeating: "pain. does. not. matter."
I've heard of the teabag trick before, but I've not tried it. Sorry to hear about your pain troubles, I get a certain amount of pains and things that I just try to ignore. Not the most effective method.
Try putting "Nelkenoel" ("carnation seed oil"?) on your teeth and gingiva. it tastes very sharp but takes away the pain and makes you smell like a christmas cookie, yummy!
Sounds like rought times you're going through right now, so i feel sorry for you and hope it gets better soon.
Getting enough sleep is the best thing you can do and at least enough time for that is a must be!
Did you ever read something about the doshas in ayurveda? I think you are a vata type like me. You could try to bring your vata down by raising up your pita and kapha energy - with tea spices and food. But that's the longterm solution.
I had a situation were I was in so much pain I had to use morphine. this lasted 5 years. If I didnt use morphine I would have died. Sometimes opiates are nessessary. Good luck I totally understand "if it doesnt have to get done, I wont do it"

None of my business, Bonnie. But you seem depressed. And you look too thin to be healthy.
Eating disorder? Drug problem?
Something is amiss....

I just suffer. I'm always too lazy, or too busy to seek out a cure. =P
Sorry I can't help, though.

Rubbing clove oil on the area is an old school remedy for tooth pain, but yours might be worse than something that simple.

What kind of dental work?
What is the nature of the pain?
-throbbing?
-steady?
-worse for chewing?
-worse for hot/cold/sweet?
