a first night togther, then yes...wine and hide your eyes in the morning. but after 4-5 months? this girl was hiding from herself. maybe still is. nonetheless, a truly beautiful poem -- and maybe one of your most personally revaling? -- with great insight into why men still can love women, even after all the cunts recently spawned and sent to castrate us.
I was really interested and hooked. I probably can't understand the feelings completely, but I can appreciate a GREAT piece of work when I see it! I am reall fond of this piece!
Hey, Poet this is brilliant, wonderful laid back poetry. I think the way you read your poems suits the style so well. I guess your poetry reminds me of Charles Bukowski, who is one of my favourite writers. I have only been writing for one year and have a mountain to climb but I think that reading your work will be a help.
nordicksy: Only a year? You gotta be kidding me. You must have started when I first got on youtube as DavidKabuki - and when I saw your videos I thought, "Oh, well this is the work of seasoned pro." ANYONE READING THIS CHECK OUT NORDICSKY's channel - GREAT STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's IT! I can't take all the procrastination! David, why aren't you required reading at my university's intro to lit class?!! You NEED TO BE PUBLISHED ALREADY! I really dig your shit, man.
WOW! I'm hooked. How shall I get anything done tonight for this new discovery? You my dear have brought shame upon my household, for now the dishes sit unwashed, the laundry in a crumpled heap still warm in it's basket, and the crumbs on the floor - at least the mice shall have a feast tonight! but I shall look a mess at work with my wrinkled socks... dishonor and shame, thank you! :)
This is great, you captured the insecurity of the woman through the man's eyes. It's a shame women don't love their own skin. This poem is kinda sad and I like that you have a smug look when you recite it, it adds to the contradiction of the woman claiming to be born to be spoiled. Only those who truly embrace themselves can be spoiled - truly spoiled. Well done, David :)
Proshka: Thank you oh my fair Belizean Brat. Life is so good now that I know I am one of the "chosen 25" - it is a group I feel very lucky to be in. Mucho love to the poochies!
The total irony is that I have a daughter named Tomi - born to be spoiled - and who could end up with a guy just like you...I don't know who to pity more - her or the guy.
zitzon: I think you just left my favorite comment! Don't let your daughter go NEAR poets! They're all crazy. The term "well-adjusted poet" is an oxymoron. I should know - I go to the secret meetings ;) - thanx for taking the time to comment.
pigoprha - thanx for taking time to comment - hey - I got this thing saying you made a video response to this - but nothing appeared. I hope you will consider reposting it. ALL video responses are welcome - they don't have to be poems and they don't have to have anything to do with my poem/video - so go nuts man - I'd like to see what you were going to put up...
pigoprha: Thanks for watching my videos. Is YouTube blocking your video? Rest assured it's not me - I yet to ever block anyone... it seems there have been some weird glitchs with YT lately...
thinkmorepink: thank YOU for the video responses - I hope to see more of them - about ANYTHING - does not always have to be poetic - although the 2 "Truth Vs. Fact" videos are more poetic than a lot of straight poetry videos I've seen.
this is perfect... "real magic comes after sunrise watching her wrapped in a cocoon of blankets like a little girl with an unconscious smile which slips away when she opens her eyes and nervously says not to look before she gets up to walk to the bathroom." amazing :)
blastedgoat: you are too kind. I think you must be part rabbit. Please know you are always welcome to post any old or new videos of yours on my channel as responses - I'd like to do anything I can to get you seen by more people - you should put the Jellybean one up too - that would be neat ;)
heather: It's so cool to get a comment like this from one of my YT heros - and I don't say that to all the girls - just the really cool ones - tell Quantum hi - I think you 2 should lose yourselves in a little indulgence tonight ;)
Lovely.
It's great every now and then finding one of your poems as I travel the Tube.
