I need help. Bought a horse as 'appendix' but told later at least one parent is 'saddle horse'. When she transitions from trot to canter, she has a gait and been told she 'hits a lick'. We have no gaited experience. Is there something we should be doing to encourage or hold this gait? All I know is cow horses. It looks like u have to sit different on a gaited horse. What is the difference between rack, single foot, 'hittin a lick'. I'm clueless, help please.
