@Suidakkra first off you stupid fuck, i was always taught they were venomus, second your the fucken twat, and third im not fucken trolling retard. read before you fucken respond faggot.
@zarrurer12 Before you call someone stupid, sparky, let's go through some basic's. You are suppose to use the contraction of you are, which is you're, not your, your is a pronoun. Also fucken, is spelled fucking, again showing your lack of intelligence and laziness. Now enjoy your (the correct way of using your) evening and try not to blow a blood vessel when someone you do not know comments on the internet, it's rather unhealthy, and quite disturbing actually.
I have kept a lot of Tarantulas in my time, and i'm hoping that the tank in this vid is just for video purposes and not keeping the animal in. As others have said height is not important to these Tarantulas, an adult Chilean should be able to reach the top with its front legs whilst still having its hind legs firmly on the tank substrate. I find a tank of no more than 6" in height and a base size of about A4 paper size perfect, but really no higher than 8".
@dashina17 i was thinking the exact same thing.. i mean... i'm pretty sure it doesn't hurt.. but i can imagine it being kinda annoying for the spider.. how would you like it if someone pulled a feather sticking out of you're coat? you wouldn't get mad but i would assume you would be slightly irritated xD
@toad773 you shut the fuck up dude. a bird eating spider is considered a taranchula. you need to get your facts right before you post dumbass.also a bird eating spider is a part of the taranchula family. moron.
@zarrurer12 I have a rose hair and i pick her up as well. Shes far more docile than my other tarantulas. Holding them isnt scary at all. And they dont bite you when you hold them
@toad773 im not stupid. i no that taranchulas are venomus and they have BIG fangs. id NEVER in my life hold 1 of those things. and what do you mean "its not a big deal if they bite you" dude their venomus! plus i bet their hard to take care of...
very easy to care for and there venom is not lethal no tarantulas venom will kill you and a rose hairs venom is not very strong I have been bit by one while holding it at the pet store though it was painful it wasn't a big deal
@toad773 "no taranchulas venom is lethal" umm dude u must not be reading books and listening to things properly. some taranchulas can kill you. and i would never hold a taranchula...they creep me the hell out.... lol
@zarrurer12 no no tarantula are lethal people just think cause they are big they are dangerous when really it is the smaller spiders that can kill you
@zarrurer12: Very very very few tarantulas are venomous to humans. The most famous deadly one is Atrax robustus... the funnel web from Sydney, Australia but even then you'd live with anti-venom. A bite from say a theraphosa blondi or theraphosa apophysis or a lasiodora parayhbana... three very big Ts and the most common bird eaters, would not kill you unless you were allergic to their venom and didn't have an epi-pen within 20 minutes of your person just like someone allergic to a bee sting.
except the milk snake one, he had good information... except he didn't know that what he thought was a pueblan milk snake was actually a nelsons milk snake...
This guy know nothing about the providing the proper habitat for the rose hair. Length in more important for this speices, than height. If this spider were the scale the walls of this aquarium and fall from the top..he/che would surely burst their abdomen, which would be fatal. This tank needs to be put on it' side and the top sealed in some manner..I hope no one follows the advice of this nerd
thank you for your comment!..I learned what I know from having T's myself, reading alot and some excellent sites that I found on the net...this dude is a joke and a disgrace to the Red hairs...I am embarrassed for him
@raptorbullets what I say is true..the dude is an idiot..this video should be pulled off the net so people don't follow his lame advice and end up with a finding their T with a busted abdomen lying crinkled at the bottom of an aquarium . I have mine in a shallow, plastic container 18"length x 10 width x 6 inches high..I use a combination of Repti-bark and coconut fiber as her bedding..about 2 inches deep..one end I keep humid, the other end dry..Good luck with your T!
@mrantis I am not contradicting myself. If you take an aquarium, place it on it's side, obviously there will be more floor space than height (insert visual here). If a chillian, or any large abdomen T has a fall, it will bust it's abdomen and bleed to death. In that case you need to move it fast to an incubator (small dish with damp paper towels in it) and place the injured T in it and place the container in a dark place...this MAY help..but not always
@mrantis horizontal. I have mine in a "critter keeper". It measures about 16x11x7 inches. That, imo, is the perfect size for a chillian. One end is the humid end, with her water dish and heat pad that I have stuck on the side of it and only use in the winter, the other end is where I have her hut, where she has made an awesome burrow right down the the bottom of the habitat.
I have never heard of the B albopilosm tarantula before. I have only had two types of T's, a rose hair and a pink toe and before getting either one I did online research about the proper care of each.
My rule of thumb has always been the bigger the bum, the harder the fall (which means the T needs to be kept in a shallow container)
Aboreal T's are more streamlined and need to be kept in tall enclosers
I looked up the curly hair T..what a gorgeous one! I feel like braiding her hair! LOL..Mine is pretty active at times. I made a video of her grooming herself (pretty wicked fang shots that I got too). She has made a deep burrow in her tank, I watched her kick up the coconut fibre into this mound..pretty neat to watch.
Old world species scare me though. I know of a guy that wants to sell me his starburst baboon T for 10$, but that is one that I will stay away from..
@BooshgaFilms Maybe she has gotten lazy since provided with a shelter..the work is already done for her..$4 for a sling is great! I paid $15 for mine..she was a resuse. Seems that some cool dude that had her, snagged himself a girl who was scared of the critter and he chose the chick over the spider (GASP)..She is full grown and I have yet to see a moult
@maplemanor I use that tank and my tarantula fell when I first got him. He didn't burst his abdomen but if your spider DOES happen to injure its abdomen you can super glue it together (immediately!) and the next time it molts the wound will be gone. On a side note, I just very soft peat, about 2-3 inches of it to line the bottom of my cage.
@soymustache By the time that I had found her, it was too late, time was of the eccense, I knew. Her abdomen was beyond repair..Since then I have adopted another one, Cindy and she is massive. I bought her as an adult and she just had her first molt with me! Very well preserved too..I keep it in a shadowbox. Her home is layered with about 3 inches of coconut fibre then I scattered some repi- bark on top of it
A very good book is "The Tarantula Keepers Guide", A must for every T keeper!

When I try to touch my Rosea it bites the hell out of my finger :S They say this specie is totally not agrassive but when I try to touch is with something it bites into the object.
Grammostola rosea's are known for being individually different and having mood swings. Several people have had a spider that was docile the first years, then turned to a complete bitch. Lol it all comes down to the spider itself.
the correct way to grab one is put ur hand in front of the creature and either 1 let it go on ur hand by itself or give it a lil pat on his butt and it will get on. Don't grab them like that.
omg he is being so careless, grabbing it and thrusting his hands in there! :S I'm no expert, but even I know you don't pick it up with your fingers like an old sweet wrapper, you're supposed to let them walk on themselves
ahh, just curious, when my male Rose Hair is about to molt, will i find and black spot where his abdomen begins? hes been kind of aggressive lately so i looked, and he has the black spot, and i looked it up online and thats what the site said i looked it up on. just asking for someone to confirm.
