They must have learned spider from Jax state as this version is the only one where the actual funk of the cadence starts to come through. If they would slow it down and get the cymbals with the basses, then they would feel the funk. The technicality is there but they need to work of the funk of spider. Tight and the closest attempt i have seen on all the web at getting it right
@bobbykhawk The only problem with that is finding the people with the will and skill to do it. At my school theres tons of wannabe's but they cant play worth a shit.
@FHSpercussionist: won first?... won first what? lol... just "won first"... no matter how much you go around saying that, doesnt make it so.... get real, kid... this isnt an award winning drumline... you can tell that by the poor techniquie and how every player is doing something completely different....
want to check out the best line in the entire state/region: Walton High School
@JessOnTheRun Seriously? Come ON man. How big is your school? Fulton HIgh School has all of about 600 students with one band director who is definately not a percussionist. Give us a break. Maybe you should feel bad because our drumline could compete with yours even with your money and numbers. Jeez
cant really rip on you guys for playing Suncoast cadence.. overall not too bad.
Only thing I can maybe suggest is practicing with a metronome and having the snareline play together in front of a mirror. Will help your technique's be similar to each other. Good job though, not bad for a high school line.
While I understand that the snare is supposed to (generally) lead the drumline, I have yet to understand why the basses need a countoff for the countoff... It's not bad at all, I just think the basses can just start.
Watched it, and I'm surprised that you go around on youtube knocking other drumlines and bragging on your own because you should be embarassed. Is that why you don't put the name of your school on most of your videos?
Lol the basses were killing the mark time with their feet. But good job overall

One of the better attempts at playing spider that I have seen. My only suggestion would be add another tenor and 3 more cymbal players to the lot
