Eternal Sonata Count Waltz's Jap. to Eng. perspective

Okay, IN MY OPINION... Liam O'Brian has done many great voices including Kain Highwind and Sanctus. But this wasn't one of his best. it didnt really match Count Waltz that much, especially the laugh. The laugh was waaaay messed up from what it should have been translated as, and the attack names should've been yelled with more killing emotion like the japanese voice actor did. Just my opinion though.

I really like the voice actor for count waltz in english much better then the one in jap. I the only thing I didn't like was that waltz looks like a 17 year old king. The character should have been much older to match the great voice in english

Wrong. If I'm not mistaken Ciel's voice actor is Maaya Sakamoto while count Waltz's is the great Junko Minagawa (uhm... Oz' seiyuu in Pandora Hearts, Ryoma's in Prince of Tennis and so on) (>w<)°

Meaning, this game sortakinda got mixed reviews because it's such a classic in JRPGs with some generic (if cliché) story elements, but Eternal Sonata has its own big twists in turns in its story and gameplay. So, yeah...but if you want my honest opinion you should buy it!

English translation is so horrible. The meaning of conversation changes to almost exactly opposite, just like in many other games...

That's why i prefer japanese voices and eng. subtitles.

I do like Liam O'Brien as Waltz and every other character he's voice acted as (Gaara, Lezard, Dist, etc.), but in my opinion, Junko Minagawa seems like the superior choice for me. To me, Waltz is like your typical spoiled (yet awesome) brat who's a bit drunk off of power. I think Junko managed to properly execute Waltz's demented ambition while retaining his youth as a character.

Also, Waltz seems to have this certain allure when he's voiced by Junko.

Yeah, but I found the leveling pace before to be a breath of fresh air. The enemies gave way more, but that "way more" stopped mattering after a specific level. The specific level that prevented hyper-over-leveling without hours and hours of grinding was made just right for each dungeon and place. In this way, you could fight the bare minimum of enemies and be "okay" or risking it with a boss, or you could fight more and feel more safe when it came to it, but couldn't easily overpower the boss

Tri-Crescendo are like NIS trying to make a serious game, but it doesn't turn out right so it turns out half crazy and half serious.
