Sorry, but having all the friends in the world won't cure addiction. You can choose to believe a lie, but addicts aren't addicted because they don't have friends or love. They are addicted because they have a biological dependency on a chemical. Maybe they first picked up their drug of choice because they felt empty or unloved, but addiction is a disease, not an emotional state.

Seeing people bad mouth Jay for being on this track is despicable. He added a different flavor to the song, the original didn't go away. Both versions are perfection, I found Jay & Amy to be a good pairing due to their differences. @SincereLogic i don't "hate" hip-hop, though i'm not particularly enthusiastic about jay-z - my only problem with this remix (same as with g.k.'s "you know i'm no good") is that it's just a sleazy piece of recycling for strictly commercial purposes. both just took amy's original vocal/instrumental tracks and messed around a bit with them. i'm not sure if any of those guys ever met her in person, but this is obviously NOT a "collaboration" - just a cheap spin-off of an artist's work by another.
@NitramZiarreh With the growing simplicity and quickness of file sharing, music production has become much simpler. Artists no longer have to be in the same studio to do a song together, and most do not. There is really NO reason to at all, waste of production budget. Regardless of Jay only adding a verse, would you not blame Amy or the label for not having her, or her choosing not to work in something new for the remix. The remix was a legitimate one, not just a blend or otherwise. Just saying.
@SincereLogic in other words, it sounds totally "artificial". this is not the result of two artists meeting and interacting and exchanging ideas, and it comes across rather obviously. in any case, this remix is more successful than ghostface killah's simplistic alternation between amy's verses and his own, which just doesn't make any musical sense. yes, they might have been good pairings, if the "pairings" themselves had ever happened at all.
@NitramZiarreh I'm not entirely sure how much "hip hop" you THINK you've been exposed to, but it's not all murder, money, hoes. Jay-Z is not all about that either, even in this track, he's using drugs as a metaphor since the song is called "Rehab". Fact of the matter is, hip hop is just as valid a genre as anything else, if done right. I've been in music production for the last 10 years, I can tell you in all honesty, most collabs are not done live together, in any genre of music.

Sorry, but having all the friends in the world won't cure addiction. You can choose to believe a lie, but addicts aren't addicted because they don't have friends or love. They are addicted because they have a biological dependency on a chemical. Maybe they first picked up their drug of choice because they felt empty or unloved, but addiction is a disease, not an emotional state.

Of course rehab is uncomfortable. Making necessary changes in life is usually more difficult than it is pleasurable. If it was easy to get off drugs or alcohol, there would be no addicts.
Few addicts do it for the buzz. You are misunderstanding addiction for the disease it is. Being loved won't magically make someone not need the bottle or the needle anymore. I know she felt empty, and it saddens me, but if someone wanted her to "go to rehab," someone genuinely cared about her.

Both versions are perfection, I found Jay & Amy to be a good pairing due to their differences. @SincereLogic i don't "hate" hip-hop, though i'm not particularly enthusiastic about jay-z - my only problem with this remix (same as with g.k.'s "you know i'm no good") is that it's just a sleazy piece of recycling for strictly commercial purposes. both just took amy's original vocal/instrumental tracks and messed around a bit with them. i'm not sure if any of those guys ever met her in person, but this is obviously NOT a "collaboration" - just a cheap spin-off of an artist's work by another.

Artists no longer have to be in the same studio to do a song together, and most do not. There is really NO reason to at all, waste of production budget. Regardless of Jay only adding a verse, would you not blame Amy or the label for not having her, or her choosing not to work in something new for the remix. The remix was a legitimate one, not just a blend or otherwise. Just saying.

@SincereLogic in other words, it sounds totally "artificial". this is not the result of two artists meeting and interacting and exchanging ideas, and it comes across rather obviously. in any case, this remix is more successful than ghostface killah's simplistic alternation between amy's verses and his own, which just doesn't make any musical sense. yes, they might have been good pairings, if the "pairings" themselves had ever happened at all.

Jay-Z is not all about that either, even in this track, he's using drugs as a metaphor since the song is called "Rehab". Fact of the matter is, hip hop is just as valid a genre as anything else, if done right. I've been in music production for the last 10 years, I can tell you in all honesty, most collabs are not done live together, in any genre of music.
