lol the announcer said Wang Zhu Zhu. Anyway Wang ZhiZhi had potential and he had to ability of the all-around game. He could score quickly off the bench, post up,shoot the mid-range jumper. If he worked on his D more and Don Nelson stopped making shoot so much 3's, he woulda been a beast.
Noah is one of the league's leading rebounder and can be considered a candidate for DPOY at the end of the season. I am Chinese myself, but as a bigman in the NBA, all Wang can do is shoot 3s.
He was a good post-up player, and an average defender, but he never got the minutes he deserved. Didn't he score 16 points in 6 minutes of play once? That's all the minutes they would give him, and he scored 16. Do you realize that if he would have played the full 48 minutes, and kept up that rate, he'd have finished the game with 128 points?
Yeah, yet he never played in the post, but instead Nellie moved him to the 3-point line. A 7-1 270 pounder shooting threes... And he's lefty too! What a waste!
Wang Zhizhi was awesome before Don Nelson destroyed him by making him shoot 3-ptrs all day. That was freaking Grant Hill he blocked, and he was only 19.

In the NBA he got no chance to showcase his skills due to it's pecking order ...

Meanwhile there are players like kwame brown and Joakim Noah in the league. He is no worse than those 2 guys and they get more PT than he ever did.

i wouldnt put Joakim Noah in the same category as kwame brown

In 1996, Michael Jordan was not the Olympic team. It's Mitch Richmond.

Wang is still only 29, he should work on his skills, maybe he can play off of the bench
Jackpwnz 4 years ago
the block was a well callaed foul even though we was close to reject hill.
this guy had talent

It's a shame that he didn't play much. He is better than most 7 footers in the league. He can drive, shoot the J, and could run. He was not clumsy.

so much potential david robinson can see it

ya, if he had used his potential wisely, he probably could've dominated Yao Ming in the court.

He had more potential than any Chinese player, past or present, and I'm not joking. But I think he misused it.

he had potential but he never improved his D or post game
