  • "You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell's record? Jesus." -Trent Reznor.

I was thinking.......wouldn't it have been great if Chris went to Trent instead of Timaland? Then I found this comment.

  • Wow, was Trent serious? I was thinking that about his last album and now about this comment he made.

  • how rude was that to say about someone ya know? ... geez .. what a douchebag!

  • Scream was a downfall for Chris good but... not worthy

  • Most excellent - as is everything he does

  • you are the caus to keep my head up high.

    as always his lyrics kill

  • I'm glad he tried something new, he was getting boring! Grunge is dead, face it. The future of music knows know genre!

  • r u serious? grunge is coming back, Alice in chains and pearl jam just released amazing albums this past fall and with the rumors of soundgarden reuniting and with mudhoney coming back, grunge is still alive and it is proven

  • I agree with strust.

Alice In Chains "Black Gives Way To Blue" was magnificent.

    Grunge isn't dead.

  • Black Gives Way To Blue was lifeless...

  • Soundgarden coming back?????

You just made my day!!! I'm gonna subscribe you right away just bevouse i'm so happy :DDd

  • grunge died when Kurt did

  • jajajajaja

  • Grunge existed before Nirvana was formed and grunge is still going.

  • kurt took the easy way out....long live grunge...it didnt commit suicide he did stupid ... gawd i hate ppl who think in the box ..... ppl need to get their own opinions and get off the "kurt was grunge" shit!..he was ok but he wasnt all that .. sorry

loved layne staley too but damn .. the music is still alive .. shit rock and roll didnt die when elvis did .. come on give it a rest

  • kurt was grunge, is my opinion. i just reckon grunge has gone downhill and essence its feel since he died

  • @kendrikMN well we can all have opinions and mine is that i think its just as good if not better than before.... just my opinion .. thanks for the reply

  • yeah nah that cool. i respect that people are still into grunge (i too am) but im just saying that the grunge scenes not as big

  • (comment to chris cornell) brother your crowd is rockers not pop and r n b or electro, your crowd is rock, if you keep to make albums like this your carrer fall down quickly, and your history like a legend of grunge will modified like a buffon of (mainstream), i speak seriosly man, your are my idol but this album is a joke really, only a shit describe this, this is even creatives songs, this is not art this is only plastic song to sell and earn money but anyways, keep in mind, your crowd is rock

  • @dfs1989 Dude, you're an idiot. It's great to see artists expand and explore. While you restrict the motivation for this record to an increase in cash flow, Mr. Cornell probably worries little about finances, unless the other guy is bigger, then he just walks away.

After 20 + years why not allow him the opportunity to explore his own interests, you like it or you don't. The sound of his voice, his lyrics, and the pain expressed would sound good over rap, country, techno, rock

    Live well.

  • Chris can pull off any style music!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I prefer Audioslave, but the record is good... Cornell is the last great grunge man...

  • Cornell is no pop star. I can't stress that enough.

  • Comment removed

  • @lukefarmer2008 good to know...

  • soz my m8 put this on

  • Cornells the man, Scream is great. Screw anyone who thinks otherwise

  • its cool to see someone do this, and I love cornell's work so far. wish more bands would try new stuff at least once. whats everyones fav song off the album? mines ground zero.

  • Scream

  • Definitely a unique take for Chris. Isn't the front of the album a picture of him in a pose appearing to break a guitar?

Think about it. He's been at this for over 20 years. I can see how someone would want to take a "right turn" after so many bands doing similar stuff.

Don't get me wrong. I love anything Chris does, this is something new.

  • amen my brother aniyn, n ejflex, wats more closed minded? not liking a song dat dumbed downed by hip hop or calling all hiphopers a gangsters n all rockers a racist? punk... GRUNGE LIVES ON!!!

  • I'm literally amazed by how many close minded idiots there are on his site, in the world and in the US. First of... all because something is not Rock, or not HI Hop... doesnt mean it "sucks." So many "hip hop" people... will listen to nothing else cus otherwise it would lower their street cred a notch TYPICAL. So many Rock people hate Rap cus it's Black culture. Timbaland - Hip Hop... Chris Cornell - One of the best Rock vocalists of all time. Collaboration is a success in this case.

  • The de-Timbaland-ized version is much better. This version's a mess.

  • link?

  • lolol sucks

  • This is definitely the best song on the album

  • agree.

  • This is the best song in the album IMO ... Also the bridges betweens tracks are awesome! 3:36

  • Thank you for continually putting my heart and thoughts to music...this song is for my daughter, my sunflower, my inspiration...she's never far away.

  • Well all i have to say is whatever Chris Cornell does its the shit no matter what style he can tear up any and probably create his own if he hasn't already

  • Hot!

  • One of the best tracks on the record, fair shout to Chris for givin anther genre a go, not many rockstars are bold enough to do it, but he needs to hurry up and get back to his roots ROCK peace out

  • this is one of my favorite songs but my fav is scream sick beat though

  • all yaw some damn haterz up in here. Look Timbalands the shyt fuck wat yaw say, and Chris cornell is the shyt so fuck what yaw say. I love every ending and every song, if some of you dum asses just listen to the album you can see its set up like a story, study the connection foo. Now kids just shut up, sit down and hold my drank bitch! lol

  • the songs are so good

and then the end ruins it -___-

  • It's gapless album. It's meant to blend with the next track.

  • ... still hatin' Timbaland... Cornell's voice is great. the only problem is that he makes his new music with Timbaland...

  • It's only one album, and he's said his next won't be anything like Scream

  • where did you read/watch/hear that?

  • timbaland sucks... audioslave, soundgarden were the real faces of Chris. But it's just my opinion.

  • You must not be white

  • He did the Song to a James Bond film idiot. He can't be that bad.

  • ignoramus.

  • What is this?!

  • ...I like soundgarden, and audioslave better... Even Temple of the Dog..

But it does take balls to leave your genre these days... I just can't hear it without comparing it to the old stuff..But it definatly doesn't suck...

  • great song by a great singer!

  • its duh!tht audioslave is awesome than this!but this is a good musical experiment!i appreciate his brave-melodious action!

u rock wt ever it is chris!

    \m/

  • yeahh

  • very good song!

  • yeah i really love this song.

  • Guess he simply wanted to experiment musically... and well change is natural . but what the fuck is going on with the lyrical content ? alright the lyrics to this one are actually not bad but Part of me .. that's seriously fucked up, if he's the one that actually wrote that I don't really know what to think : o

  • i think Audislave was so much better than "scream" album, but i like this song .Only this song from the legendary new album.

  • Have you heard "Two Drink Minimum"?

  • The live version of this song is so amazing. They should totally release a live version for all his "rock" fans

  • i totally agree with zussman. this album took awhile to grow on me. after seeing cornell live, i can honestly say its a work of art. he goes from this r&b/rock influence to pure rock when doing this song live. i luv it. :)

  • this album is the definition of a "grower"

when I first heard it, I hated everything about it, but its been growing on me ever since.

I can actually say i like the album now. I like it a lot.

the beats are still pretty stupid but its still Cornell and his mighty awesomeness.

not even timbaland can kill Cornell's music.

  • I couldn't agree with you more.

  • holy fuck fans are more panicked about this cd then they are about the swine flu

if you don't like the cd then don't buy it, listen to the other cds

everyone can of course comment and say they don't like it cause of freedom of speech but don't have internetwars over these things-people have different opinions and that's exactly why the comment section was created, not to spark arguments and retardwars

    personally i love this cd

  • Don't call this creative. These beats have been done before, there is nothing new here. Chris Cornell is a great lyricist, but to bad it's over Timbaland's prepackaged beats. It doesn't even sound like he tried to work with him, instead it sounds like he used left over beats from his last album Shock Value.

  • i agree ! read Soundgarden's lyrics.....and now.... read this lyrics....my goD ! i fall so DOWN !

  • nice song ;)

"never far away "for me it´s the best song in the album

  • you seen my live video of Never Far Away?

  • Stop living in the past, Soundgarden is no more. People evolve through music. It's naive to think that Chris doesn't evolve and try new things. Embrace his talent - or move along to new things. This song is amazing, and I have all his Soundgarden material. The guy is a pioneer.

  • Sorry, but your English is a joke, I can't argue or even comment properly when you are unable to even formulate a coherent sentence. It's not meant as an insult, but rather a respons.

Chris Cornell is experimenting, something more artist could learn from. He might lose a lot of his fans from his Soundgarden/Audioslave era, but he will gain lots more with this new area, that he is exploring.

  • Comment removed

  • yes i cant write a correct english, but u can understand my words...

mayb e i speak a very BAD english...sure....but u are more bad than me, cause u can speak a very good ensligh, but u talk of stupid things....

    he will gain ?!?!?!

he with Soundgarden dont played for gain! he rapresented a scene of Seattle ! where there were not economic interests....sorry

but i think that maybe u was a dumb fan of Soundgarden....

  • I'm an old fan of him. And I still like him and respect him. I personally don't like his last works: Audioslave last albums and carry on. Less Scream. But every artist needs to change, to explore, to be able to improve. About Scream: his lyrics aren't good as his euphoria morning album. The music, Timbalands music, is not different than Nelly or Madonna. But I'm not a hater. I'm expressing my opinion. That's 'cause I believe in Chris cornell the artist, the musician, the poet. It's like a click.

  • Wonderful Song

  • this song makes me remember how much i care bout my girl man and we r away man this is a great soul trak man and good sarcasism didnt even know how to spell it lol ( inside joke yeah!!!!!! )

  • yeah man, and like, man, man

  • Great Song!! Makes me think of my wonderful wife when I'm on the road (insert sarcastic, ahhhhh....)

  • this one is a 9 out of 10 song too.

I DON'T WANT TO CHANGE ANYMORE!

  • this is defo one of my fav songs rom the album. such a gorgeous song. i love the beats too
