Can't speak for the Marines(guess it's pretty equal though), but in my boot in German infantry even guys that fitted with their weight but had still to much have been truthfully said the biggest pain in the ass in my 3 months.

They are the weakest link in the chain(platoon/squad). This ended often in quitting the service for them, only the mentally really strong ones made it and if you're only boot will show you.
