  • WE HAVE TO CHOOSE OUR LEADERS WISELY!... cool teacher though! =)

  • acamedicians?

  • i wish he was my teacher

  • "I go down to the doctor and I have him fit me with a colostomy bag and get a couple enemas and I'm ready to filibuster for 48 hours!"

    Lawl

  • While Mike may have good intentions at heart he is a socialist, this bars him from being completely pro-freedom.

  • How can he say that he wants the people making the laws, then the next minute tell us the rate of dropouts in the United States? I don't know about you but I don't want a bunch of dumbasses making laws for me.

  • The man is a raving maniac. Can you say National Godlessness...

  • He wants to challenge Obama in 2012

  • He sounds like Phil Jackson lol good lecture great point of views

  • These guys are high, and probably would never become a president. They don't know that, there are people behind the curtains and they are the ones who chose the president not WE THE PEOPLE OF UNITED STATES OF AMERIC! like said in the constitution.

  • great ideas and speech that he gave, i wish most elected officials spoke this way and meant what they said,

however regarding his direct democracy approach i wonder if that would actually be possible, as far as i know a direct democracy requires citizens to approve the laws; thus us being the lawmakers, however, our population is huge...

past the nice would-be promises and statements, i really wonder, would it be possible with opposition found in both houses of congress and the GOP?

  • His ideas would not be feasible at all. He says everyone needs to be involved in making laws... How exactly would that work? Do you expect every citizen to read every piece of legislation and vote daily? There's already problems getting people to vote once every two years. He's suggesting demolition of our representative democratic system, and it's just crazy. It's a shame he calls himself a Democrat because he has no idea what he's talking about.

  • gravel is the man.

  • People who say "Probably wouldn't work" are not those who are the leaders. They are the intellectual norm that follows the leaders.

  • does anyone know why this video isn't working? Do you have to go to Berkeley to watch it? Thanks for the input.

  • try it again. it works fine for many people...

  • I plan on majoring in Political Science and Psychology; Or just minor in Psychology. I hope to work in Human Rights law or international law. Any advice?

  • I love his ideas. He's very optimistic about what we can accomplish.

  • He has studied them and he is for a Constitutional direct democracy that protects individual rights. India is not a direct democracy. The only place it exists is Switzerland.

  • Sounds pretty arrogant. Not that it wouldn't be great if we could do some of the magical things he is saying... But its not practical.

  • lol im naked! n

  • J this video reminds me of my videos!!1 3

  • Interesting, very informative.

  • this guy doesnt seem to be very well informed about the science he's supposedly backing.

  • This man is a political genius. 'Nuff said.

  • Prove to us that bush is not an idiot then. Look at all the damage he has done to our country's economy and foreign relations. Just go put gasoline in your car..see how your wallet is being raped.

  • First off, I NEVER said that Bush is not an idiot. I was simply making light of the fact that the lecturer was talking all about LOVE in one sentence, and then calling people idiots. Hypocrisy at it's best. I will say nobody is an idiot that becomes President of the US. You have to have some smarts and be resourceful to make that office. He has made some poor decisions that have affected our country, though I would argue that more so on the foreign relations front than the economy

  • I would say you need to completely revise your statement. cooley79

  • why is that?

  • Apropos 08:14-08:17 - Please read Private Education The Swedish Model at the Economist webpage.

  • wow.

I have to confess that i've never dreamed about it that an american ,addad to that an SENATOR would talk and think this way !!!!!!!!!

    respect

we need more of theese people in europe , middle east and specially in the Us .

Why is he not the president of the US ?

god bless the world and those who love peace !

  • LOVE, best idea ever! instead of making political decisions on emotions of anxiety, anger, greed, hatred, fear...you have a man who wants the United States to get better and grow better. I hope the americans make the right decision.

  • cool ideas.
