I like your video very much , I'm also a gantry crane operator in a steel mill port we normally discharge vessels with between 40 to 60,000 tons of iron ore pellets it also takes between 3 to 4 days to discharge using 1 crane . i would like to see more videos of this type and i will try to upload 1 my self .
Nice to look at, but why are you tanking half grabs ????
(just kidding)
Iàm also a crane operator at a coal terminal in the Netherlands.
Our cabins are one with the grab so whe move back and forwards from ship to bunker. your cabin can be fixed at each point that you like, and the grab automaticly empty`s when it reaches the bunker right ?
Do you also use wheelloaders and other machines to clean up the holds ?
Usualy container cranes move arount with the spreder, because they need to be precise.
With bulk cargi us this the fastest way to discharge why moving the cabin around, specialy to the bunker where it gets dusty. And who don't uses wheelloader to clean up? :) can you reach with the grab the ribs in a bulker? :)
The gantry cranes i opperate are starting to be quit antique (have to look up the precise built but its more than 30 years ago)
Back in those day`s the were built like that Whe don`t just unload bulkers, whe also load/unload our warehouses with agri products ore stonebased products that are not allowed to get wet like bentonite.
And yes with our cranes you can make a swing great enough to plant the grab against the ribs of a bulker.
the last few tons in the corner are for the wheelloader.
That was great, thanks for posting, that must take forever to unload a ship. Post more video when possible. What are you unloading and where? Thanks again.
Thanks glad you liked it in the video im unloading bulk cement clicker there's 40,000 tons onboard this ship and it usually take's around 4 day's to unload it.
