McCain says we were on the verge of defeat in the early years of the Iraq War. True enough, but we defeated ourselves even before then when we conducted a pre-emptive invasion of a boxed in country that presented NO immediate threat. By rejecting the principles that made our country great, we lowered ourselves to become a bully nation picking fights. Good judgement in military means not only knowing when to increase your forces, or withdraw your forces, but more importantly when to fight at all.
