Your average Alien has a level of intelligence that is similar to a Human 5 or 6 year old and mainly functions on instincts. Your average Arachnid relies less on instincts and more on high level knowledge by way of a psychic leadership caste. Aliens rely on Pheromones to communicate whereas Arachnids rely on faster and more convient psychic communications. Aliens would have no chance Arachnids would win. Not to mention the Arachnids have numbers on their side.
