The HX-1 tour came to my city, Arcadia, California in late 87, maybe early 88 when I was in 4th grade. They did a small show at my school and the local music store, where I and my friends went on stage and danced the ridiculous Pee-Wee Herman dance from "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure", when the demo musician played "Tequila." I got the demo tape, and I loved the two songs featured on it, but I forget the names of the songs. Does anyone know what those songs were called?
LOL. Actually, "Star Trek's helm goes digital" would be more accurate. The HX is all digital, providing a combination of sampled and FM sounds. You'd be hard pressed to find a digital circuit on William Shatner's 1960s bridge.
Fantastic video - very in-depth and thorough, definitely an enthusiast's view! I was fortunate enough to have one of these instruments in the past, and found it to be a fantastic piece of kit that gave me many years of enjoyment. Sadly, when I moved out of my parent's place, there was just no room for it, but it was sorely missed! Thanks for taking the time to record this video.
For most functions, I find the HX reasonably intuative. I usually only have to reach for the manual when I'm doing something with the sequencer, since I don't use it that much.
So does this mean that you're going to trade up from the HS-8?
The HS-8 has been collecting dust since I brought home the FX-20. It would be nice to find an HX-1 someday, but for now, the FX-20 is keeping me very busy.
Very interesting. Could you please continue? I have this Electone, but I find myself getting into menus accidently and I don't know how to get out. :-)
Thanks for the video and your effort is highly appreciated ! HX-1 is undoubtedly one of the greatest Electones we've ever had in our time. You are definitely one of those lucky HX-1 owner.

An amazing sounding instrument, but not for the faint of heart. Undoubtedly, the most complex Electone ever created.
