As you can see, Lancaster was no stranger to the trapeze, he'd been a circus performer long before getting into movies and did some of his own stunts here, obviously (carefully watch the editing and you can see which ones). This picture was wiped from the memory of man by the next film Lancaster did with Curtis: "The Sweet Smell of Success." "Trapeze" was a smash hit and "The Sweet Smell of Success" was a flop in its day but it stood the test of time and obliterates this fine film in its wake.
It was my first inspiration to push me up to do aerealist performer in Mexico, the next one happens three years later and it is still!

Great film and I'm glad it ended the way it did. Burt deserved the Gina! Mwah!

A fine, fine movie. Everyone's excellent in it, especially Lancaster.

I've heard Tony Curtis claim in interviews that he did "some of the ground tumbling" but I'm watching the editing and at 14:47, he hasn't.

Wonderful film, wonderful stars (Lancaster, Curtis and the beautiful Gina Lollobrigida). Thanks a lot.

@leiton02 This is a wonderful film but no one talks about it that much. I think it is a masterwork.
