  • this is an awesome video and I appreciate all the work and craftsmanship that goes into making these.... but OMG I'm so glad for cheap chinese $20 shoes, I would always be barefoot if this was the only way to make shoes now.

  • @KustomFu That is called "demand". Having a wide selection is a good thing. On the other hand consider this: if shoemaking would have died out (practically), shoemakers would be able to produce shoes for around 100 USD, and chinese shoes would be sold around 50. And I believe I don't need to explain how much better to wear something from real leather than plastic.

  • one wrong move and that shoe would be a waste

  • @monchinee very true.

  • In a world where everything is mass-produced on an assembly line, I think that it has become somewhat lost that real craftsmen were also artisans as well. I think this is one of the real treasures that Youtube has to offer; showing people that so-called "lost arts" like this are still being practiced and inspiring others to take up a craft. I myself have not ignored this and am looking into blacksmithing.

  • @DistendedPerinium agreed

  • I won't ever say that the shoes that I byu are too expensive :/

  • WOWWWW soo Beautiful such a "fine" art! :)

  • te faltaba el guardamanos, para apretar bien la puntada,yo a la vira le hacia una pequeña endidura con la cuchilla, y asi el hilo quedaba bien encajado en la vira, salut joan,

  • wow todo un arte gracias por poner este video!

  • so you use the wood thingy to make the hole and the needle/thread stuff to sew? i was wondering what the wood thingy was for

  • I love it!This is a quality work. This is how the real shoes are made.I only have seen in Romania handmade shoes..:)

  • idiot all this hard work just go buy ones instead of sweatin so much to make them shoes!!

  • Philistine! These are a work of ART you ignorant Barbarian.

  • incredible, quality, that worths to pay something more, too much work and talend

  • Now how much would those sell for?

  • is that a cottonthread with a beeswax coating...?

  • Cottons thread is right, only beeswax is not enough for this. We mix it with other stuffs.

  • Actually not goodyear, but very similar. English-sewn.

  • This is the goodyear.

  • That looks kind of like a planishing hammer. What do you call it?

  • Is this what we call the "goodyear" construction?

  • nope. But very similar. Goodyear is made by machines.

  • Very mesmerizing... No wonder why good handmade shoes cost about $300 and up.

  • Wonderful - a real craftsman at work!

  • Will ther be a fourth video showing how the sole is attached?

  • How about some more music. The last one was great in video 2

  • there is so much detail in what you are doing it is easy to see how it takes such a long time to hand make shoes. Congratulations on a job well done.

  • Another good one Marcell.
