  • Was the line a private spur to serve that quarry?

The quarry shut so therefore so did the tramway.

The track looked in good condition , I am surprised there had been nothing run down there for six years.

  • The tramway was built to serve a limesand mine at Coffin Bay. THey still mine sand, it is just shipped by road to Whyalla now.

  • sorry to here about you dog

  • this does look fun! I would really be keen to do something like that!

  • Try the refs above, or use the youtube links to email me

  • Thanks for the feedback.

THe line was closed 6 years prior to the trip. I had permission from its caretaker at the time to do the run.

Top speed of these cars is around the 30-40mph mark.

If you like the idea do a google search - NARCOA if you are in the States, ASSCO if you are in Australia

  • what's your top speed? looks fun! i take it you know the train schedule over there right? : )
