  • As a physician in an Anti Aging practice, I agree that the hydroxy- and methyl- forms are much better. However, I don't know if I go along with him quite as far as he does about the "toxicity." He even touched on it in the video--if one has good anti-oxidant support, then the body will deal with cyanocobalamin pretty well & it WILL function as B12. However, if one is deficient in antioxidants, it will be ineffective. If severely deficient, possibly toxic.

    Richard Snouffer, MD

    The Carlton Clinic

  • @HammerDoc Aloha Dr. Snouffer, I will not go into great detail here but suffice it to say there is risk with Cyanocoblamin in particular in injectable form. Vegetarians and smokers in particular are vulnerable. I have seen patients go blind from 3 injections of Cyanocobalamin. The point is it is not the preferred form of B12 and for many they will not be able to get the Cobalamin. HydroxyCobalamin is more available than even MethylCobalamin and does not interfere with MethylFolate.

  • @HammerDoc Respond to this video... Lastly, Hydroxy form produces more AdenosylCobalamin than even MethylCobalamin. Dr. Kunin will have a more detailed article about this on NaturalNews in the coming few weeks. I encourage you to look for it on our website as well. Are you currently using Ola Loa in your practice. We are the leading methylating support vitamin drink on the market. I am happy to send you samples.

  • these people !!!!!!

  • Cyanocobalamin in Vitamin B12 is garbage. Don't use it. Use Methylcobalamin B12 as it's the natural type. Send emails to vitamin manufacturers and complain about the toxic garbage they put in your vitamins so they will change and make better vitamins quick!

  • My story is too long to share but just know that I know what you are saying is the truth . It made me feel horrible so I went to the urgent care and I took my notes so I wouldn't sound stupid and the Dr. disagreed with me and I asked him to please do a particular test that a lot of Dr. miss and he agreed but thought it was useless and had never heard of the test. The typical test he ran showed normal and the other test showed my b12 levels were off the charts!

  • @kkimberly2004 what was the test that you asked him to do, and what does it cost?

  • @benjorgensen1 The Methylmalonic Acid Test, also called an MMA Test and I don't know how much it was because medicare paid for it. When I cut back on the b-12 I found that I was still sensitive to cobalamin B12.

  • I appreciate this video. I may need to get injections because I have neutropenia, and this has definitely been educational. Thanks.

  • So Let me get this correct. there are NEGATIVE MINDED PEOPLE trying to debunk this man and his info and his info job because he is REALLY TELLING THE TRUTH!. he is letting people know the TRUTH

Cyanide killed Manny people and animals not to mention the second world war. I suppose fouride is is good for you too in little amounts?!?!. Go Ahead liquidvitaminman You are doing a great favor. you should be PROUD!!.

OLA LOA to everyone.Still dont belive what liquidvitaminman are saying. SEARCH THE WEB.

  • His eyebrows distracted me.

  • Propaganda?

  • Ola is just another company selling synthetic crap vitamins. The raw ingredients come from the pharm companies. If you want to support the pharm companies then buy Ola and go to a doctor and get there evil drugs. If you want vitamins then use whole food vitamins as they are made from real super foods and your body recognizes them and can absorbe them better. Do NOT support evil pharm companies as they are not interested in your health only in making money out or you.

  • Cyano form is definitely a problem for some, though we wouldn't go as far as saying it could cause blindness. B12 works by donating its methyl group and accepting an adenosyl group, so it has to get rid of its cyanide in order to work. Why eat the stuff when you can get methylcobalamin readily? (and no, your evidence on hydroxocobalamin better than methyl is fabricated). You can also get adenosylcobalamin as dibencozide, cheaply.

  • this is so ridiculous, starrting any wild rumors about pharma industry is easy and actually no evidence is existing.

in the same sentence you could suspect your doctor to give you harmful medication to benefit though your disease.

actually you could trust no one anymore and that wont make your life easier

  • @Ueberlegsdir2mal You simply don't understand chemistry and obviously have no experience working with medical patients and vitamin B12. I am posting an updated video to help people, just like you, to understand. The fact is HydroxyCobalamin is the preferred form of vitamin B12. This isn't about rumors. We have had first hand experience with patients going blind and being damaged from injectable vitamin B12. The body uses HydroxyCobalamin better than CyanoCobalamin...PERIOD!

  • Sodium when it hits water explodes! Chloride in its gaseous form is lethal! When combined into Sodium Chloride it is table salt.

    The wonders of chemistry.

Not sure that cyanide is all that easily broken down to attack at the cellular level. Indeed, cancer cells are particularly susceptible to the cyanide portion of Amygdalin (found in apricot (Prunus armeniaca) and black cherry (Prunus serotina) while normal cells don't seem to react. Take his warning with a grain of salt (pun intended).

  • @Slave2Reason You are missing the point. HydroxyCobalamin is the preferred form of Vitamin B12 for the body, even better than MethylCobalamin. CyanoCobalamin does not absorb well and can lead to terrible consequences as we have seen in our medical practice with a patient being blinded by 3 injections of CyanoCobalamin. If you are going to supplement B12 get the better form which the body prefers!

  • @liquidvitaminman You get no argument from me that the methyl form is superior and that massive amounts of the cyano form can be dangerous... My only point is that the FDA demonized laetrile on the basis of the cyanide that could be released by the Beta-glucosidase enzyme that catalyzes the release of cyanide from amygdalin. Research shows that cancer cells are particularly susceptible to this cyanide release, and in limit cyano forms my be therapeutic.

  • thanks for selling your product

  • There are products claiming to be organic which contain cyanocobalamin. They should not be allowed to call those products organic because cyanocobalamin is synthetic...Spirulina comes in a bottle which has a label claiming to contain significant amounts of b12 but when i wrote the company making it, they could not state the exact form of b12 in it, suggesting only b12 analogues are in it...Vegans especially should listen to Greg here because so few vegan foods contain active, natural b12.

  • this is not so overboard just for reclamation! haha fail!!

  • interesting read : Cyanocobalamin is in every vitamin B12 supplement known because it is stable and less costly to manufacture But it is not usable in the body. What people experience after taking cyanocobalamin supplements is stimulation. The toxic effect of the cyanide triggers a rush of energy as the body works hard to excrete the poison, and this fools people into believing that the supplement has “worked” to heal them.

  • Thanks for the Info. i just bought these super b complex vitamins and found out there is cyanocobalamin in it... guess i wont be using these any more.

  • @NemusAurelius Now may be a good time to try Ola Loa. The right form of B12 and more importantly support for Methylation. Use the coupon code YouTube and save 25% (for a limited time) at the Ola Loa website.

  • is this man from out of space...he looks like Mr. Spock

  • What Vitamins are used in schizophrenia for Orthomolecular MEdicine?

  • i would buy from your site if you had the Hydroxy B12 you're talking about, but i only found multivitamins on your site and i will never use any multi-supplement EVER. I want to control my dosage on different vitamins myself... the search for pure Hydroxy B12 goes on....

  • I could never take multivitamins continually because they made me nervous. I have to conclude that the cyanocobalamin was the reason because i didn't have any problems when continuously taking Ola Loa (with b12 as hydroxocobalamin) or Metabolic Maintenance (with b12 as methylcobalamin). People, don't misread nervousness as a healthy energy boost. Cyanocobalamin is as far from the organic form of the vitamin that you can get.

  • does anyone have any suggetions for vitamins for a 22 yr old male thats in college and doesnt get many healthy meals. im tired alot and i dont know why

  • This is a bit extreme, saying cyanocobalamin is at all dangerous. The amount of cyanide is miniscule, certainly not enough to harm you. The study you referenced isn't even applicable, as it was done using HL60 leukemia cell lines, and was studying the effects of the presence or absence of methionine. It has nothing to do with cyanocobalamin being toxic. Furthermore, OH-cobalamin is NOT "300% more" efficient. MethylB12 is the way to go. Cyano sucks, but dangerous? Not at all.

  • I agree with the above comment. If more users (including the "author" of this video) took a scientific and analytical approach to nutrition and toxicology we could actually facilitate appropriate and meaningful discussions here. Remember the first rule of toxicology. Everything is poisonous at a certain concentration.

  • You need to do more study. We have had first hand experience with patients going blind with 3 injections of CyanoCobalamin. Vegetarians, Vegans and Smoker in particular must be very careful as B12 deficiency and increases in cyanide via diet and smoking can lead to neuropathy and blindness. Cyanocobalamin is NOT the preferred form of B12 for the body...PERIOD! HydroxyCobalamin is the natural transport factor and has been shown to be more available than MethylCobalamin.

  • @liquidvitaminman well naturally the shots are surely highly concentrated and the patients must already be weak so there is no real evidence in what you are saying. The shots must be given to healthy non-smoking people for there to be any real evidence in what u are saying...

  • @cciarpelli You need to take a Chemistry course before thinking you're intelligent. 100mcg of B12 contains 100 cyanide compounds...500mcg of B12 contains 500 cyanide compounds....1000mcg of B12 contains 1000 cyanide compounds....see where I am going with this? "Minuscule" is something the drug companies say to sell their products. I've tried the cyanide form of B12 and never had more nightmares in my life in a single week!

  • @cciarpelli

If you type in cyanocobalamin in google you find a massive amout of sites where people commenting about having problems or getting sick after having used cyanocobalamin.

  • Hydroxycobalamin is used as an antidote for cyanide poisoning, producing the RELATIVELY harmless cyanocobalamin. Is this why ingesting cyanocobalamin can reduce true b12 levels, as Greg mentions in the video, as hydroxycobalamin is used up detoxifying cyanocobalamin?

  • Kraft has also been written, as well as cereal makers General Mills and Kelloggs, asking that they stop adding cyanocobalamin to their products...It appears that methylcobalamin can indeed significantly improve visual accomodation. Thanks to Dr. D'Adamo for mentioning that online, and to Greg here for mentioning that cyanocobalamin can actually induce blindness.

  • This might be why i've never been able to take multivitamins daily, as that made me nervous. Unfortunately cyanocobalamin is added to alot of stuff i enjoy like nutritional yeast, "better than milk" soy powder, Yves vegan "meat". Consider joining me in writing the makers ot that stuff and asking that they use a non-toxic b12 or not add any b12 and let people choose their own source of it.

  • Hello, I recently bought Vitamin B12 from a shop called Holland & Barrett. I don't know much information about them apart from what it says on the tub, Essential for Mental Health & Performance. Releases Energy from Foods.

Im taking two caplets (1000 µg) a day as i do a highly extreme sport called parkour which needs High Energy.

Im wondering if im doing the correct thing by taking these and if it will effect me in any way?

    Thanks

  • can u reply to this plz?

some ppl say if i eat a dandelion i MAY get a chemical that blocks B12

am i supposed to get B12 to live?

or is it bad to have?

i really need help, some ppl say dandelions are good. and i want to try one :S

  • lulz im screwed. I ate half a bottle of these vitamins that taste good and i looked at the ingredients n it had Vitamin B12. i ate at least 2 hand fulls. is that bad? if so, when will i die???

  • so along with the hydroxy form the methyl and adenysol form in supplements are safe?

I'm assuming the naturally occurring B12 in Spirulina is safe. Although I've heard some negative things about Spirulina lately.

  • HydroxyCobalamin offers greater advantage to all other forms of vitamin B12. It has been shown that Methionine Synthase Enzyme Activity increase 3 fold as compared to MethylCobalamin. It has also been shown that HydroxyCobalamin absorbs more readily than MethylCobalamin and is the natural transport of the vitamin.

Transport means that it is transported without being diverted and used up along the way.

Spirulina is a great food but due to it's cyanogenic component it is not ideal for B12.

  • but can I induvidual get more benefit from

the Toxic B12 as you call it than the xydro form?

  • This is very suspicious -- I generally ignore ads -- and yes this is an ad -- where the author removes numerous comments., even when he/she responds with a correction. This is interesting info, but is totally overshadowed. I'd rather take advice from a professional. Thanks, but no thanks.

  • My impression is that you were trying to warn me. No need for that. I I came to the same conclusion you did.

There is some truth to what is being said here. However, there is so much more that has been left unsaid.

I'm sure our comments are next to be removed.

  • Aloha Dylan, Obviously you haven't looked closely here or at our website. A. I don't remove the comments I simply educate the people that are here. B. All the information presented is through our Director of Research, Richard Kunin, M.D., formally of Cornell New York Hospital and Stanford University where he did his Post Doctoral Fellowship. He is also the President of the Society of Orthomolecular Health Medicine and one of the world leaders in the field. I'm happy to discuss any of this w/ U

  • @DylanMarshall911

    Good luck with that, Dylan.

  • This is a classic case of where a little information can be dangerous. Hopefully our "medical" student will learn from this. You are correct in identifying the active coenzymes of Vitamin B12 as Methyl and AdenosylCobalamin, but sadly you are missing the point of my video. The fact is that HydroxyCobalamin is the preferred form and is the natural transport form of Vitamin B12 and is more readily converted to Glutathionyl and MethylCobalamin. Cyanocobalamin is NOT. continued....

  • It is also known that HydroxyCobalamin is more available and efficient in producing MethylCobalamin within the cell. Lastly and most importantly CyanoCobalamin (cyanide) is potentially toxic and not as available as HydroxyCobalamin. Interestingly enough the antidote to cyanide poisoning is HydroxyCobalamin.

Of course if you would like to discuss this further I am happy to oblige.

  • One last point should be made here regarding the fact that MethylCobalamin taken regularly may interfere with the demethylation of Methyl Tetra Hydro Folate (MTHF) which can induce a deficiency of THF which is required for 2 major reactions, 1. They Synthesis of Thymadine and 2. Participation in the redox regulation of Biopterin, required for synthesis of both dopamine and serotonin.

  • methylcobalamin is the way to go. already converted to a form immediately absorbable and usable to the body. and it is much, much safer than cyano.

now, why is it that cyanocobalamin injections are available in Canada without prescription, but methylcobalamin shots are not? hmmmmm...

    government is not your friend

  • MethylCobalamin has its place but there are concerns when used orally. MethylCobalamin can chelate mercury out of your fillings and the stomach lining and unfortunately deliver it directly to your brain. We advise people to only use MethylCobalamin in injectable form. Also Richard Deth, Ph.D., has shown that in virtually all tissue in the body the HydroxyCobalamin form is more available by as much as 300%. The cortex is the only area where MethylCobalamin has an edge but it's very modest.

  • @liquidvitaminman Are you referring to methylcobalamin sprays? Otherwise you can buy it in tablet form from most other vitamin companies. There's no contact involved with your fillings. Also from what I understand, B-Complex vitamis are better anyway since the B's all work together in your body to support your nervous system.

  • @liquidvitaminman Thanks for mentioning the mercury issue. We should be alright if we take sublingual methylcobalamin and keep it under our tongues and then swallow it, avoiding contact with fillings, yes?

  • This is Real creepy. I've been taking sublingual B12 for the past few months, and I've felt progressively sicker since I started! The brand is DaVinci Labs, and it does NOT indicate if its Cyano- or Hydroxy-. It just says "B12". THIS IS REAL SCARY!!! I had a hunch that the B12 was making me SICK!!!

  • i believe if you dig a little deeper, you will find that the c-lactam varieties of cyanocobalamin and hydroxocobalamin are not actually B12, they are B12 antagonists. they are research chemicals used by scientists to cause cause the effect of B12 deficiency in cultures or lab animals. however, cyanocobalamin and hydroxocobalamin without the c-lactam are B12 and work just fine.

  • link to some literature that proves your statements. I read through the document you showed in your video and the research was not as you stated, so you falsely stated the facts. I am interested to hear more, as I am wanting to believe you are well intended, but I need to see more proof of your statements.

  • I guess you missed this part of the article where it states: "

Cyanocobalamin [c-lactam] antagonizes vitamin B12 in vitro and causes CELL DEATH from methionine deficiency". It has been known for over 50 years that cyanocobalamin can cause blindness for those with early Lebers Optic Atrophy. Bottom line, the body uses HydroxyCobalmin much better and with greater safety.

  • fuck fuck fuck ive been injecting the cyanocobalamin

  • lol! sucker!

  • meh im still injecting it because i cant get any better source... no problems so far. ps your an asshole

  • great info. B-12 is so "in" now the truth should come out. I started using Ola Loa when my acupuncturist suggested it saying that emergency was full of sugar. It has served me well.

  • Wow! Thank you so much for this video. I've been using Whole Foods Vitamin B-12 and its cyanocobalamin B-12. I hate being scammed!
