@bboystreet12: No not useless...you need the HDMI cable. If you used HDMI before for everything (sound and video), you still use it to get the video/picture to the TV. However, the sound will not go through it anymore.
This may be obvious, but reconnect the mic to the headset again and check that on the 'breakaway' that the mic mute switch is not enabled and that the mic volume is up. Does that help? If not, you may want to take back where you bought it and get a replacement set just in case.
@rufmor1: I don't believe you can hear through both the TV and headset at the same time which is good and bad depending what you want. There may be a work around but I'm not aware of it if it exists. Let me know if you find one. Thx.
R they worth the money?????...tough question. If you have some extra cash and really game a lot, I'd say so. Great to keep sound contained without bothering parents, siblings etc. I've only had for 3+ months so if the stand up to time that will make a big difference. They feel solid so I'm hopefull they will be worth it. Check out some of the reviews out there and then decide.
@HARLEMSKIDLAZY: That sounds like an odd problem so be sure everyone is not using Ninja Pro but you could try double checking the sound settings are set to 5.1 Dolby but I think you did. Not sure after that. Sorry.
heyy @ ekne4 i got the same headset as u andi also set them up step by step as ur video but couple of my friends were saying that you could hear layers footsteps and i cant do u know what might be the problem ? :/ everything is set up like urs ..
@joeadame2: No TV hook up. Keep in mind once you switch the sound from the HDMI to the optical cable, the PS3 console is sending all sound to the headphones and not the the TV wher the the video output is still going. All sound, game sound and mic sound will now come through the head phones. It's not like adding a mic only, where all other sound still comes through the TV.
@VenomShot240: I doubt that is the problem but I'm sorry I don't know for sure. Try to reconnect the mic on the headset and all the cables to see if that is the issue. I suspect a bad cable first but I guess it's possible the internal jack connection may have been damaged but don't know.
if you didnt realize those were caps, could that mess up the jacks to where the mic get really staticy and almost shrieks white noise? i didnt realized they were caps and am worried i may have messed up the jack on my ps3? :(
i checked many vids to help me get the sound into my headset. nd now i found out it was cuz of the plastic :(. you put every detail. Very good job. Ty sir
@EventeNerGiZe: If you see the mic on symbol in the game, it may be that a sound option in the game such as mic volume or mute may be set wrong. Have you tried it on other games?
this helped but, when i speak it dosent register. I followed the video exactly, and when i play a game it shows my mic is in, but it dosent let me talk. help?

So the trittons ax720 dont require you to connect any cables to the actual tv? Sorry if you mentioned it and i missed it

You can get an optical cable at Best Buy or Radio shack. It's not a PS3 only cable. Hope that helps.
ekne4 3 months ago
what if you've lost your optical cable? :/ I can't play with game volume without the optical cable.
