Greetings from Joshua Tree....QOTSA managed to embody the emotional exchange of a Long Slow Goodbye through the music which is then felt by all those that hear it, a rare trait that very few bands are capable of.
I love how Queens of The Stone Age incorporates the slide into the majority of their songs giving it a very ominous tone. Great work and one hell of a live performance!
my best friend just passed and the last song we played together in a jam sesh is this beautiful piece of work. we recorded it and its just unfair how perfect this song ties into his death. i love queens of the stone age it is easily the greatest band next to alice in chains and led zeppelin. ohh and this is the BEST version of this song. Homme is my hero
@kevinheartwell91 no, he really isn't. He's an egomaniacal douche with and idiot-savant's gift for rock and roll. His ego has destroyed bands in the past, and ruined QOTSA. I mean it. Compare any of their newer stuff to anything made with Nick Oliveri...not even close.
@25tab ok... you dont like josh homme, im not too fussed to be honest, go listen to whatever it is you like to listen to an i will carry on listening to qotsa.
@kevinheartwell91 oh no! A dweeb that acts tough on the internets! I best not mess or he'll like do some... Just .shut the fuck up you stupid fan boy.
@25tab what?? are you are you serious? I dont have a problem if you dont like josh homme or qotsa or whatever, i really dont care, but dont comment on a qotsa video about how much you hate josh homme and then tell me that im the one who is acting tough because i really dont want to hear it.
@25tabsounds like you're the egomaniac, lets get this straight nick fucked up(beatin up chicks, what a fuckwit)thats why josh kicked him out,no lose when you have Alain, and in my opinion they have gotten better, and where the fuck do u come up with that shit,go listen to velvet revolver then
@SuperVultureculture right...you actually believe josh when he spreads such bullshit to defend his precious ego? get a life, and take his cock out of your mouth, you idiot fanboy. QOTSA hasn't made a decent album in years and you know it... The crap they've produced recently sounds like outtakes from their old, better albums...as for velvet revolver, i like a good non-sequitor (watch that one go right over your head) as much as the next guy, but insults work better if they make sense.
Ha, it grew one me, too. I was listening to my ipod in my car and had it on shuffle on all of the QOTSA albums. I was like "Damn, this song is great, what is it?" Haha, it likes my favorite some now.
The guitarist in the beginning? That is Alain Johannes from the Band Eleven. His wife natasha Schneider who is the keyboard player in this video is also a part of Eleven which is an amazing band in and of itself :D
I agree. I still get sad when I think about it. I made a youtube channel to commemorate her and the music of her and Alain's band 'Eleven'. If your interested the channel is called 'RememberNatasha'. I felt that there weren't enough memorials to her so I thought it was the least I could do. :)
no offence to natasha , as taking the piss out of the dead is not something i do , but ive noticed how many people are now only praising her after she has died did u not enjoy her when she was alive? people now feel they haqve tp say something good even if they dont mean it , ie VapoRxAB is just talking out of his arse ,if josh homme had his balls cut off i never came wud have a different meaning ... not taking the piss out of natasha just stateing something ive noticed . peace

You know, dosobrain, you have a very big point there that people always forget. Joey didn't come from some kind of small, short lived or even just unknown band. He did Danzig, and he did it long, for drummer's sakes.
It's also a mystery to me why people are still arguing about his ability even if he singlehandedly pulls off the entire back catalog of the queens. That's Alfredo, that's Gene, that's Nick (Lucero), and that's Dave. And he pulls it off damn well.

QOTSA are incredible, period. Real fans can appreciate all of their work.

Fourth- look at lullabies and era vulgaris. Those are his own. His style. And it's fucking great. There are *a lot* of classic pieces of drumming in those, and he always does a good job at backing up, being a fundament, and amplifying the music. That's what a drummer does.
So people- with these four points staring you in the face, stop the fuck arguing about Joey. It's insulting to both him and you.
Sidar654321 3 years ago
Third, the major complaint about him is that he speeds songs up or 'messes them up'. D'ya think someone would seriously get away with speeding up songs and messing them up repeatedly over *years* without having permission (or even cooperation) with Josh and the gang to do that?
Sidar654321 3 years ago
You know, dosobrain, you have a very big point there that people always forget. Joey didn't come from some kind of small, short lived or even just unknown band. He did Danzig, and he did it long, for drummer's sakes.
It's also a mystery to me why people are still arguing about his ability even if he singlehandedly pulls off the entire back catalog of the queens. That's Alfredo, that's Gene, that's Nick (Lucero), and that's Dave. And he pulls it off damn well.
