Thanks for this video and the great lesson. I remember the other one you posted last Halloween and it may be in my favorites. I have to search stores here for the flashlights that have a strap at the end. Lately, I have been trying not to be out late or in the dark since my ribs are fractured.
@piperlady56 Dianne your best defense even though everyone has the right to do what they want is to not put themselves in a possible bad situation so if you avoid not being out late by yourself that is being aware very good. Thank you for watching and commenting and your points.
This was a great video. I loved how you made sure to explain the advantages of the flashlights and the various uses for the different sizes of flashlights. The thing i really thought it was ingenious was the switching on and off while moving so as to avoid having our body detected. Great lesson, thank you for sharing and demonstrating! *bow*
@VickThorrable I am glad you picked up on that Vick the moving around but switching the light on and off . Leaving it on leaves you prone to an attack since your opponent will know where you are in the dark , if you use short bursts they cannot but you know where you are in your own surroundings. I am glad you liked it. Thanks for watching , commenting and your points.
Now this I like! Being a student of stick and knife I love the use of these kind of objects.
And not focussing the eyes on the target is one of the first things I learned in fighting. Keep eyes level or at the opponent's chest for peripheral monitoring. So I subscribe to what you say about that.
Hi Rick, how are you? Thank you very much for this new video, it`s very nice and useful. :) I like videos about objects that everyone finds at home such as brooms and rolled up magazines as well, because not everyone has swords or sai or anything and knows how to handle them... XD
@sweetfantasy33 I am doing well Stella thanks for asking and I hope all is well with you. I am glad you found this video useful. You are very right the average person does not have swords, sai , tonfa lying around their house so they make do with what they have to protect themselves from serious bodily harm when threatened. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@TheDemzly So nice to hear from you Sensei Nephew Duane , my daughter has moved out to her own home so her massive bedroom is mine until the Mrs decides to do something with it :( Thanks for the comment on the vid and watching, always a pleasure to hear from my nephew.
A great video that builds on your previous flashlight vids! The natural thing to do is to look at the area you intend on hitting, it takes practice to not telegraph your punches and kicks.
Back to flashlights - now you started me looking into high quality tactical flashlights. I never knew there were such bright ones available! I've been looking at some of the ones from 4Sevens.com. One of the things that impressed me is the "strobe" mode, I think that would disorient your attacker.
@Harpmaker45 Thank you Don I am glad you liked it . The strobe mode is to not let your opponent have enough time to figure out your where abouts. Some of the flashlights out there now are quite extraordinary. I own a stinger which is amazing little flashlight as durable as anything and extremely bright. Thank you for watching and commenting Don I appreciate it.
@CoopersNEMA I am glad you found it useful , we actually train with the flashlights in our hands (the mag lights) for takedowns , almost using them like a hanbo. One of my flashlights is very long requiring 4 D battteries so I can use it like a hanbo for locks , strikes etc. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it very much.
I love these tips. The mag light is obviously the daddy, but isn't easy to carry in day-to-day life ; that's where the pen comes into its own (you know all this) but I would add that jabbing that pen *anywhere* is going to freak the attack out - so long as he doesn't know it's in your hand. It's a very alarming sensation to have something that small and solid dig into you deep: the stomach, the ribs, the neck, anywhere and everywhere: it's alarming and painful and that's a perfect attack.
@chrispoel I am glad you liked the video Chris you are exactly right if someone is not ready for it those pen lights would certainly catch their attention. I have had Soke Richard Morris and Shihan Michael Lamonica put these techniques on me and the pain is excrutiating. Thank you for your points and comment and watching much appreciated. I do like the daddy as you called it my mag light but as you said it is a little big to be carrying around in my business suit LOL.
great video showing the different types of flashlights and how to use each one of them, I really enjoy and use a similar method to your maglite techniques although my flashlights are much smaller. for the Steven Seagal and MMA, you may want to watch Bas Rutten and Joe Rogan's take on it. That was an awesome execution by Anderson Silva on Vitor Belfort.
@wmpyr Thank you Sensei Wmpyr for the comment and watching . We should do a flashlight collaboration video soon the way we did before. I often thing flashlights are under rated and hence like to bring them to the forefront again. Light and a stick what more could you ask for LOL. As for Steven Seagal and the MMA I do not know what Joe Rogan or Bas Rutten said about Shihan Seagal but I know Shihan got a lot of bad press where people said he did not teach Anderson Silva mae geri.
@wmpyr part 2-However it is not teaching the kick that Shihan taught him but when to place the kick and how at what exact time the attacker is at his most vulnerable. Seagal is big on when someone drops their guard and passing centre. Now the critics of Seagal are becoming more positive when Lyoto Machida under Seagal's tutelage did the exact same thing and had a knock out over the Natural Randy Couture again with Mae Geri.
@wmpyr part 3- if you watch the tutelage video of Seagal and Machida on Seagal's own you tube site it is quite interesting to watch , it is not how to do mae geri but when to throw it , the comments below that video are like okay I doubted the first one with Silva but now a second one with Machida , Seagal may be on to something. Of course haters have to go on about his weight and crap not realizing he is a legit 7th dan with Aikikai and almost 60 years old. Thanks again Sensei for your input.
@wmpyr part 4- however with that being all said I am a huge Bas Rutten fan that guy is one tough dude who I would not want to meet in a dark alley and knows his stuff very well. My family is from Holland and Bas is world renowned. Another very tough individual is Jon Bluming , he is an old man now but still tough as nails and one of the highest ranked martial artist in the world for Karate and Judo.
@DTGtaihojutsu a flashlight collaboration video sounds GREAT, let's do it, probably much better suited for us than the relaxation video lol. With the whole Seagal thing, just wanted to recommend that you watch the back story and hear both sides.
@wmpyr part 5- sorry for all the comments Sensei Wmpyr if you have time try and watch Steven Seagal the Path Beyond Thought I own it and quite enjoyed it. I know the man is developing a rap for his ego but I would still be honoured to learn from a man of his talent.
@DTGtaihojutsu no problem Sensei, I have seen it, personally I would not want to train with him, the man is scary, but that being said, I do enjoy his movies VERY much, even the straight to video ones! :) nobody is perfect, the guy says some crazy things, they say he has done some really bad things, and it's important to learn from his mistakes, but he has also done many good things, like inspire people to train in martial arts.
Seconds, are all you need to save your life, & the tactical flashlights you demonstrated are great examples of giving you that much time. Your tips on doing the front snap kick woke me up, as I often find myself slacking off by putting my hands down when I do the kick, not to mention looking at the target before I kick. Really missed you making videos =3 XD. Would give it 2 thumbs up! Playlisted =D!
@Loyal2law Thanks Jay for watching and commenting . I will start making more videos on a regular basis. Mark and I are going to do a batch towards the end of the month. Thanks again my friend for the comment.
@Loyal2law Do not worry brother I am quite busy too and will make videos when I can. I look forward to your new stuff and patiently await. Our work, family and school come first , you tube second.
