Beautiful flowers, but very toxic to both people and animals if injested. I might try planting some this year, do they ok in heavy soil ?(Lots of clay and some sand).
No none of them. I use a standard 1-1-1(pearlite, peat, vermiculite) mix for everthing I do. Tropicals, Perennials, Annuals, Vegetables, etc. It is similar to "Pro Mix" but by making my own it allows me to adjust the nutrient level and PH.
Interested in Horticulture or Agriculture? Well those industries are all about making money and dont care about the nutritional content of food or your health. So its easy, just complete the circle and check out Permaculture too. So simple and elegant.

Not nearly as toxic as Delphinium, Lupins, Aconitum and many more. For heavy soil add peat.
