Democrats fought for an end to segregation. Republicans fought to keep it in place.
Democrats fought for health care. Republicans fought against it.

Do you think God agrees with the fact that this opportunistic girl is exposing her body in swim suits for all horny men to see? It is evident that her nice figure and beauty is the result of her vanity. When a woman parades semi naked in front of men, she is invoking sentiments/feelings in men that are not in accord with a Christian God. And now, she has breast implants? God help this hypocrite girl because she has done nothing that indicates that she is following the teachings of Jesus.

Go Miss California! God intended marriage to be a sacred bond between a man and a woman and she is a rolemodel for standing her ground. Although homosexuality is a sin, we should all love the sinner because in the end, that's what we all are: sinners.
Maybe this question did cause Miss California to lose the crown, but she did NOT lose her dignity, she did NOT lose her values, and she did NOT lose what she believes in. For that, I believe she is the real winner (and I live in NC).

I support gay marriage but I fully support Miss. California in her answer. She is fully entitled to stand up for what she believes in and should not be punished or looked down upon for this. Perez obviously wanted her to say that she supposrts gay marriage but its ridiculous that she lost the crown because she is opinionated instead of providing some on the fence answer that any idiot could say.

She is allowed her opinion but that is why they ask questions :) At the end of the day they are looking for someone to represent all Americans, not just some of them. What if her opinion was proslavery? Besides...all men involved in pageants are gay...what a boob answer, she was from California, she should have know that was coming~

No one person can represent all of America. It's impossible to be pleasing to everyone. And I think it's very respectable for her to answer the way she did despite the fact that she knew what Perez wanted to hear.

No one is perfect. I agree with you; pageants are very...controversial (for lack of a better word). I wish we could make them see that they're beautiful in God's eyes and that they don't need to do that but it's just the society we live in.

You seem like a bright, intelligent girl. Always stand up for equality...not so long ago in history Hitler and the Nazis wrote discrimination against gays civil rights into their laws and gays were rounded up and taken to concentration camps to die along with Jewish people. Always give people a chance, always stand for equality, always make sure people different than you are not discriminated against. Peace~

It was a "no win" question and I respect her for voicing her beliefs with minimal fluff. Despite what some are saying, the majority still opposes gay marriage - which makes as much sense to me as a make-believe tea party. But take heart - given the persistent erosion of anything resembling ethics it shouldn't be too long before anything at all goes, along with our once flourishing culture, down the tubes.

She was very respectful and stated her beliefs. Question asked, question answered. Was it a trick question? Seems like folks believe only complete acceptance of gay marriage is the ONLY right answer. God bless her for having the courage to state her beliefs and upholding traditional marriage. And to think it came from Miss California of all people ...
