You seem like such a good down to earth guy! I really enjoy your videos a lot and enjoyed seeing your experiences in Japan. I envy!
I wish you the best and I hope you get to go back to Japan soon! I really hope I can get myself over there are well, I'm currently learning Japanese in High School, and in college next year I hope to study abroad.
Hi Jason. I've been watching your videos for quiet some time now but never posted. I'm from Miami and had to leave home to go to school in NC and Phoenix. You make good friendships and have amazing experiences, and while part of you is happy to return home, the other part doesn't want to leave. I didn't have a vlog while away but i took many pics and sent videos home. I know this last video must have been very hard. Especially since when you turn off your camera you are alone in your house. :(
what a guy. well similarly i don't think you know how much we all appreciate you putting these videos up. You are a true inspiration. I hope I get the opportunity to experience some of the wonders you have if I am successful for next years applications.
Try to see it from the perspective of Japanese nationalists and rasists who think that the Japanese are a chosen people, descendants of the gods, that everything Japanese is the zenith of what's good and civilized, and that everything and everybody not Japanese is decadent, of minor value, impure, and cardinally barbaric, a taint on sacred Japanese soil.
The Germans have purged such elements after WW2, but MacArthur failed to push the Japanese into that direction.
Unfortunately not all JETs are amazing people, just like not all Japanese people are fantastic people. So very occasionally a JET makes the news for doing something wrong, and gaijin-hating Japanese leap on these isolated moments to say that Japan should stop spending taxpayer money on hiring foreigners. I plan to do a whole vlog on this subject now that I'm no longer a JET.
Jason, You are a natural educator and have touched so many students and people worldwide.
We wish to follow your guidance as you return to the states. San Diego is another great place to educate us all about. Catch your breath and get back to us soon. We await.
I've really enjoyed watching all your Videos Jason - they've helped me with my own plans to come to Japan to teach - cheers man! I look forward to watching your future videos too. All the best with your move back to San Diego
You have done an amazing job educating me about JET and Japan, for that I am incredibly grateful. You have shown me that life in Japan can be amazing whether in a big city or small. Thank you for helping my solidify the plans for my life to take on JET and other traveling programs.
Thanks for being here all this time, i followed all your video and will still do with a lot of thankfullness for being our eyes and ears in japan :D じゃーね!Peace! Ken ^-^ v
Take care of yourself Jason. Its a shame I work crazy hours on Wednesday, I could meet up with and guys. You've been a great inspiration for what I do, and you're a fantastic gent. Never change dude. Hopefully you can come back to Japan soon. Best of luck my friend.
When I go to Japan (hopefully on the JET Program) a few years from now I'll be sure to make videos too. Hopefully they can be as entertaining and informative as yours are.
I can't wait to see your next footage from your new chapter of your life. I think it's going to be very interesting to see. I hope everything going well for you. Good luck!!!
Thank you so very much for taking the time to make these vlogs, I could not dream about the existence or participation in the JET program without the guidance of your videos, ほんとうに.
Thank you for all the insightful and helpful vlogs Jason.
For a time now it has been my intention to succeed in getting on the JET programme - I am in group B & leave the UK on Saturday - and the information you have provided has been useful, reassuring and exciting in all the best ways. I'm certain your Japan adventure is far from over.
I wish you all the best and all the luck with whatever path you take when you leave Japan. Who knows what the country still holds for you.
All the best for the next chapter of your life. I have enjoyed your videos, hard to put a finger on why they have stood out, but compared to a lot on YouTube they seem honest, without pretension, but with soul.
Getting to know you over these last few weeks via this method have been a blessing. You have given many people a great deal of help and inspiration with regards to not only the JET program but a giant leap in life such as this.
I am sure I speak for everyone when I say, hope to hear from you soon. May your travel back to the states be an enjoyable adventure good sir.
Your videos are awesome, thanks so much for this insight. Japan is defiantely a place I'm gonna visit, though not too soon - I've got money issues and need to learn the language some more!
Wow, an amazing journey has come to an end. I wish you all the best back in the U.S. and safe travels. I am thankful for your tips and am happy to now be a part of the JET family!

I have been in Japan for a month now on a study abroad program and will also be leaving Japan by the end of this week. I want to thank you for all of your vids! It really inspired me to visit Japan and I dont regret for a moment this experience. And I will definitely be looking into the JET program for this coming year. Thanks again!!
Hey Jason aka myargonauts. I've been a subscriber for a couple months now and have been always interested in your JET videos because I've been thinking about applying after I finish my studies. Plus, I was born in Japan and never really got to experience what life was like in Japan.
Anyways, have a safe trip back to the good ol' USA.
Well Jason, I hope you have a good trip back home. As you know, I have been a subscriber to your channels for over a year now (still can't believe that). Your videos have been phenomenal and I will continue to be a subscriber of yours once you start uploading from the US. Thanks for all your replies and messages to me and answering all my questions. See ya again soon. You should do a shout out video for all of us! LOL! =)
Thank You for the amazing videos. I learned a lot about Japan by watching them. I have moved countries also, it is sad to leave but its great to be home. Good luck :-)
Thanks alot Jason, you've done a great job informing and entertaining the YouTube masses. This channel was an outstanding source for when I was examining my post-graduation options and pretty much cemented the fact that I will be applying for JET once the process starts up again in a few months.
Enjoy your last few days in Japan, have a safe trip back to the states, and keep on making outstanding vlogs.
Hey Jason, hope it all is good. Thanks for the material to work with, I learned alot from watching, glad I stumbled across you :^D Hope all the best for you, take care of yourself man and welcome back to the states
Thank you for all your videos. They have helped to solidify my choice about whether or not I should be coming to Japan. Although it will only be in 2011, I can't wait! Good luck in the States. ^_^
I've been enjoying your channel pretty much since you started. I believe that I am part of those initial 100 subscribers. I wish you luck in your future and hope you have a safe trip by to the USA. Kanpai!
Good luck in your future Jason! I just wanna let you know that this channel has been the most informative JET vlog on all of Youtube, and it doesn't have to end just because you leaving the program =] . Also I've just recently discovered PJ's channel so it will be cool to see ya together. Happy Travels!!
Thank you Jason, for all the great videos and insights. It's a shame that you're finally heading back to the USA, as yours are always the videos that I most look forward to watching, but I'll make sure to still be here following you. =]
Good luck with your return to America, have a safe journey!
Great video Jason. Have a safe trip back to the US, and get ready for reverse culture shock! "Wow, the streets are so wide! And I can read everything again! And everyone is talking so fast (or am I talking slowly?)" Heheh! If for some reason you do stay in the US, be sure to join JETAA! And if you ever head upstate to northern CA, I'd love to meet you and compare notes about Japan and JET, as well as our comic book collections, etc!
No thank YOU Jason, the time you spent making these awesome videos have really given me a new goal to become a JET. Keep rocking on and can't wait to see your future shinanigans! :D
Hey Jason, I read your speech it was very touching. Thanks the information, and footage you provided us. Better yet thank your for treating your job as a professional, and doing your best to teach/inform others!
I wish you the best of luck!
There's a saying that goes like this
"Always cherish the small things in life, because when you grow old and look back. You realize they were the big things"
I'll be seeing you, I mean your videos with the certainty they'll be interesting, kind and informative. I sure hope you can make it back to Japan and keep us in the know of the sumo world. Peace and fair weather for your trip.
Ah it`s so sad that you`r leaving, but I`ll sure will stick with you :) I hope you`ll take a lot of footage in Kobe. I`ll be waiting when you`ll go to Japan again! :) Good luck!
Thanks for all your videos, you were and still are devoted to doing all this. Great videos Jason, try to make videos of life in America and how you have to adjust to it again!
I know I've already written a "goodbye" type message on a previously posted video, but I can't not join with the viewers of this video. :-) So thank you for everything Jason.
For whatever reason might take me down your way in California, if I find a reason to go there, we will definitely have to do lunch or something... on me. It's the least I could do to repay the positive impact your videos have had on me. Travel safely. Hopefully I spell this phrase correctly. きょつけってね。
Jason, your videos have been extraordinarily helpful to me in my preparation, as has your availability to answer my individual questions. You are great!
Wow, it's been almost a year since I started following your vlog. Time flies so fast!
Thankyou for all the great vlogs and blogs & thankyou for taking time to make them. Thankyou also for your replies to comments & PMs. I speak for all when I say it's greatly appreciated.
Good luck with readjusting back to life in the US and it's a bit optimistic but hopefully I'll see you next year in Japan (if I get chosen for JET because I know you're going back for sure)
these past months that i've spent watching your videos have been great for me. I've learned so much and youve just given all of us so much information that we couldnt normally find, I really am very grateful. I remember several several times I have stressed out over the details of something so small and you just happened to have a video on it right there and ready for me and it was exactly what i needed to hear. but its not over yet, I'm sticking with you all the way.
Thanks you so much for continuing to post all of your vlogs, I have really learned a lot! I am still thinking about doing JET before I go into grad school, and your videos have given me invaluable info for all parts of the process. I really wish you success back in the US, and more importantly, hope that you can find a way back to Japan, because it seems that is where you really want to be!
Thanks so much Jason, I've learned more from you about JET than anyone else.... and I can't thank you enough for that. Hopefully you will go on and do something you enjoy as much as you enjoyed your time in Japan. I'm sure you won't go back to just a boring old life for too long :]
Very entertaining on a number of levels as always. Don't fret, you have an audience, partly because I hope for some greater freedom of speech in the future.
It's been a pleasure getting to know you and viewing your experiences in Japan throughout all these years. Words can't begin to describe how much you've inspired myself and others around, and so I want to say thank you for everything. Enjoy your last few days, have a safe trip back, and see you next week.
Thank you sooooo much Jason for all your videos. They are all fab and as a result of watching them, i'm gonna apply for the JET programme this year! I wish you the best of luck back in the USA and hope everything goes well for you! Keep the VLogs comming!
Jason, Thank you so much for taking your time and effort to create this channel about JET and Japan. I'll be arriving in Group B this year, and I have been watching your videos since I started applying for JET last year. Having been able to learn through your experiences and advice has helped me to feel more confident about making the move to Japan. I can't wait to start working with my junior high students. Thanks so much and best of luck in the next stage of your life!
I have only recently started watching your videos, but I thoroughly enjoyed watched every one. You seem to really enjoy what you are doing, and it makes your videos a joy to watch :)
You have also given me the kick start I needed to start learning hiragana and katakana. Which I desperately needed. So for that, arigato gozaimasu! . Have a safe journey home!
Thank you for bringing us on this journey with you, we appreciate all the effort you put into it. Hope you have a great return to the states. When I heard you say you planned to go to Japan again in the future, I figured you would, you sound like you really like it there.
I'll certainly keep watching. You seem to be the jvlogger that I "know" the best. (Most of the others don't stop to talk about comics or movies) I've always enjoyed the videos even though I may or may not end up in the JET program.
Thanks for your tireless efforts Jason. I've not been involved with JET, but have still taken a lot from your videos. It was great to have such a personal insight into your life in Japan, and I look forward to seeing a few uploads from around the US too. Best of luck getting back to Japan, and I'll be staying tuned!
well, great job and hope you have a safe trip home to san diego. i always enjoy your videos and you got me interested in sumo. i am going to be in japan (takamatsu in shikoku) in a few weeks and you have also inspired me to make my own vlog. btw, since you live in shimane, did you you know two dudes from arizona named brandon and david?
Thanks for the videos man! Like I said before it kinda stinks that I just started watching you a couple months ago...I feel like I missed out on a lot :( but I truly did enjoy what I did see and I'll continue to watch you when you post in the states. I wish you the best of luck with everything, hopefully you'll make a return next year! Take care man and have a safe trip home :)
Thank you Jason. It's been a pleasure to watch your videos and as a way to pass my time. Have fun in Kobe, and I look forward to watching more of your videos once you get back home to the States.
Almost a week without internet? People can survive like that?! :O
I would like to say it's been awesome Jason, but that would be a lie. It still is awesome and I'll be looking forward to your future videos. Just seems the local language is going to be Spanish instead of Japanese. :D
I had to find short moments when I could go online if only for a few minutes - at my school, at the Korean airport waiting for a delayed connection, etc. But I'm back now :)
Thanks for all of your videos! Unfortunately I came to them really late (like only a few weeks ago) but your vlogs have been really helpful as i am applying for JET this year.
Hope you have a safe trip back to the states and enjoy you last few days
You seem like such a good down to earth guy! I really enjoy your videos a lot and enjoyed seeing your experiences in Japan. I envy!
I wish you the best and I hope you get to go back to Japan soon! I really hope I can get myself over there are well, I'm currently learning Japanese in High School, and in college next year I hope to study abroad.
So best of luck to both of us! :)

きょつけってね。

I'll be arriving in Group B this year, and I have been watching your videos since I started applying for JET last year. I'll certainly keep watching. You seem to be the jvlogger that I "know" the best. (Most of the others don't stop to talk about comics or movies) I've always enjoyed the videos even though I may or may not end up in the JET program.
Thanks for putting all that time into this
