If the umbilical cord was wrapped AROUND the baby, I think its likely the mother gave birth to the baby by herself, IN the woods.

The baby does look great, and I'd guess its because she had *less* trauma than babies born drugged in hospitals, with bright lights, loud noises, being slapped, and handled roughly.
