@Zee96969696 T7o is Daniel's favorite hand, he wasn't being disrespectful.
I don't think Ken's been playing excellently, but he's doing decent for an amateur against pros. He's just a little awkward because he's super nervous. People should cut him some slack. He's been perfectly respectful and courteous to everyone, and I think a humble and sportsmanlike attitude is more important than skill when judging the character of a guy who's obviously going to be outmatched anyway.

Final note on this, there are many players who consider even 47/53 a coinflip, and they are by no means wrong to think so. Because of this often players who are more conservative and/or are less willing to "gamble" will often fold even if they are the .53 to .47 favourite (assuming there are no or negligible pot odds). Anyone reading this - Whilst I do not claim to be an expert, I know a fair amount of basics regarding this so feel free to ask any questions.
when a pocket pair goes up agianst 2 overcards, the odds of the pair winning is around 50% therefore it is called a coinflip or also know as race situation
Actually pocket pairs are usually more of a 55% favorite; it's still pretty much a coin flip but that extra edge is enough for many players to consider going all in with any pocket pair a good move
@kingofcupcakes No, it's more often 52%. And no, the more correct reason is actually because of the money already in the pot, meaning even if it were 50/50 (whereas its actually 52/48ish), either player (the pocket pair or the over cards) are justified in calling/shoving, assuming they know their positions, because the odds offered are better than their 48/52 or 52/48 position
Thanks for trying to teach me pot odds, but just a tip, you made it sound a bit more complicated than it really is.
And actually smaller pocket pairs against 2 overcards are on average about 55%, because the overcards could be gapped quite a bit, or not even supporting a straight at all. Suited or os matters too. Like say for example, 66 against A9o would be around 57% if I'm not mistaken (which I very well could be), but against AKs I believe it's a flat 50%
@kingofcupcakes That wasn't really a pot odds lesson, it just happened to involve very simple pot odds. Believe me 52% is the most common. The worst case scenario is 43/57 like you said, but that is only if 1/. a straight is "blocked" like the example you mentioned, AND both flushes are "blocked". That is to say, A9 heart/diamond vs. 66 heart/diamond. However again the most common scenario will be 48/52, or so I've seen anyway.
@kingofcupcakes Assuming it's 53/47 (which it will rarely be worse than that for the over cards) the blinds/antes/bets will almost always be more than the margin of difference for the overcards meaning it will almost always be better to shove/call (assuming the player "knows" they have two over cards versus a lower pocket pair, which obviously they won't necessarily know). I apologise if I appear to be treating you like an idiot. There is no reason you should think this, but just in case
@kingofcupcakes I am making it clear. To those who don't understand, basically let's say:
Action is folded to players A and B.
Both players have 10, 000 total including the blinds, with blinds being 500/1000. A raises to 3000, B has an underpair and reraises all in. Because he is roughly a 47/53 underdog and can win 13000 by putting in 7000 more aka .7 to 1.3 odds when his cards are .47 to .53 underdog s/he should definitely call. Again this is an example, and does not account for many things.
That made it pretty clear and was a much better explanation than before. Granted I understand pot odds already, but you probably helped some people who have or will read these comments.
in a shorthanded game and blinds at 2 and 4 thousand it's not that crazy. except for the fact that he only had 22k. i'm not trying to back up light by any means because i think he played this entire game terribly. it was like he simply wanted to be there and nothing more.
Gotta say phil rly suprised me in this whole dream table stuff, hes not as annoying and all around with the fake attitude as always (still there though :P)
why do u guys pick on him?i dont get it.jealousy maybe?just cause he looks like a nerd but he is sitting down at a "dream" table which i dont think any of u will be doing any time soon
i don't mind anyone if they are amateurs and the play with pros. i'm happy for them, and i don't even care if they're rubbish, it's great that they can play with their favourite players. it's when they start telling the pro's how play, and acting all cocky. and when they giggle like a hyena with down syndrome
i think it's more that all the others no each other very well, and that he is probably a bit too nervous to feel comfortable talking to them all. they probably don't mind him, just don't really know if they would like him or not.
I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet but I can't stand Ken Light.
