#5 all time leader in rushing is jerome bettis, #5 in rushing TD's is jim brown. herschel is not even in the top 30. Herschel played 12 years in the nfl, not 14. herschel had 7 rushing TD's his last 5 years in the NFL, but 61 rush TD's total. he did good his first few years. over all decent.

Tebow had alot of runs that were way more then 3 yards. like the run that broke herschels record was a 28 yard run vs UGA. Why couldnt Herschel? he could take a snap and just run. u said if herschel could call his own number he would, he had alot more carries a game then Tebow, dont act like Tebow called his own number everytime.

of course herschel had more carries he was a running back he could take a snap and run with it  why would a linebacker play the pass when he had the ball just blitz in! andtebow had designed plays bubble screen if it wasn't open he ran, the read option if someone was there to make a tackle he would hand it off if there wasn't he run his self and 33 of his touchdowns were 3 yards or less herschel had real speed even set world record in track at 6.15 in a 60 yard dash

So what if Hershel did it in 3 years and Tebow in 4. Herschel had 994 carries, and Tebow has had 692. Tebow had around 620 when he broke the record.

Tim Tebow is slightly overrated. Slightly cause he is good but isnt great. Top 50 ever yes....not top 5 or top 10. Now if he could actually roll out and throw the ball then yes....he could be. But now he is a great runner, and an average quarterback.  His seperation from the packs comes because is is without a doubt a great leader.

No, if you *really* think about it, it only took Herschel 36 games to set the record. It took Tebow 49 or 50 to break it...not to mention Herschel's 5 TDs that aren't recognized by the NCAA because they were scored in bowl games, which didn't start counting until about 10 years ago.

You're right waterdude, on the roster he is a quarterback, and he leads his team like a good QB should. But in execution he's more of a fullback with a decent arm.

The fact that's he's a QB and has managed to score so many rushing TDs is quite an accomplishment, but I still don't think he's a better football player than Herschel Walker. Period.
