  • Clean good hit by Morrow.

  • That was clean. He had his head down. Good hit for Morrow.

  • morrow is such a stud

  • Fucking hate it when fans boo a clean hit on one of their team's player, its hockey get the fuck over it.

  • Morrow never throws dirty hits. go stars!

  • @CROWLEY25 mmkay. lets see you get hit like that.

  • Easily one of the best hits I've seen, abit unlucky smashing into the boards but go morrow and go stars!!

  • I'd just like to say, as a Canucks fan, these two teams need to do a lot more of this when they play against each other. And a riot or two wouldn't hurt either. Oh shit, that's my car.

  • ok, so the level of skill in the nhl would be much higher if not for the "clean hits" which have sidelined many top players for weeks and months, but those hits are oh so fun to watch. take away those hits and fans are left with nothing but the skill of players like crosby, gaborik, kane, giroux, malkin, kopitar, stamkos, datyuk, the sedins... seriously, who wants that...? ummm... other than players families I mean.

  • this was a clean hit. sorry for kopitar though that was wacked. Oo

  • Ya go stars clean hit

  • @MrGosenica Se strinjam

  • I'm a Stars Fan BUT I'm getting frustrated as crap watching their power-play!When I was a kid playing pee-wee hockey in Ontario Coach always said on Powerplays 1.shoot shoot shoot at the Net & 2.Keep a guy in front of the net to either get rebound or screen the opposing goalie. Here's this years Stars Powerplay.Morrow rushes to get behind other teams net. After that all Stars players go point, point, corner, point, behind the net, corner, point, corner, behind the net.DAMMIT! Shoot at the Fing NET!

  • Clean hit, but the kings should have won by 2 or 3. Stupid penalties for richards, later doughty game misconduct for charging. Refs suck in the west coast. Costs la kings the game. Good for kings fan screaming Ref you suck at the end. I've been hearing that a lot in the past 5-10 games. They are right.

  • european players are so soft.

  • @CROWLEY25 yea u think soo american tough guy ? i wan't too see u in that hit fool

  • @CROWLEY25 so is your dick..

  • Third line of Morrow, Handzus and McGinn or Winny.

  • Good for Richards standing up for his star. Bad for Richards to do it with only a one goal lead. As a Sharks fan I hate Morrow. But I would love him on my team. Burns for Morrow?? :D

  • @kunstssst san jose sucks.

  • The 'fight a guy cause your guy got lawn chaired with his head buried' is idiotic. Whatever happened to 'get the guy's #' then get him back? If your teammate gets filled in, and you go over to the filler-inner and pick a fight, that's instigating. Period. Forget to take off your visor, you obviously can't read the rules. Then you whine about the refs.

  • Good hit, I'd always liked to see Morrow in a LA jersey, he's a much stronger captain than Brown. Kopitar is iron though, obviously scary situation I've been stunned like that before from way less

But a 4 minute double minor? The ref just made up a rule, gave Richards two penalties for one foul? it can't be hooking AND tripping in the same play and the instigator 2:00 takes care of the "unsportsmanlike" part of it, and it ended up being a 3 point switch in the standings in favor of the Stars. BS

  • @eric151xx it was a double minnor because richards had a visor and didnt take it off

  • If that happened to me, as normal person...

I would probably be paralyzed, so all respect goes to Kopi...

Among the fact he's one of the most talented / skilled centers, he is also though as same as war horse. But I agree it was clean hit, Kopi haven't expected it, and I'm glad he is OK.

  • boardinggggg

  • @subboy1der lol i hope your kiding

  • @rebelcsb1 i realize boarding is a hit from behind, but its the same dangerous spot and the same dangerous hit..shouldnt be made imo. kopi was really lucky..couple more inches and his face is eating boards, and his neck is bending in a bad way

  • @subboy1der no

  • Man it was an illegal hit and we got the penalty! Fuck the refs they screwed us big time in this one.

  • @therifatalkshow He started a fight with a visor, it's a penalty you silly person. It was a clean shoulder on shoulder hit, you guys lost, deal with it.

  • @therifatalkshow How was that an illegal hit you idiot? Even the kings announcers are explaining at 1:25 how it wasn't an illegal hit. The rule book also says that a player with a visor can't pick a fight with a player without one, hence the penalty. Learn the rules. Instead of fuck the refs, I say go fuck yourself.

  • @therifatalkshow how was it illegal, cant wait to hear your reasoning.

  • maybe anze should keep his head up around the net once in a while. great hockey hit, and great job taking a star player out of the play by morrow. I'll take him on my team any day

  • Pičke Ameriške

  • morow or is it moron.

  • @JSTpacek Morrow is a top PWF player.Fuck you.

  • Bob and Jim couldn't figure out that there is an automatic unsportsmanlike penalty for instigating a fight with a visor? They must be the most senile announcers in the league

  • @pjabdo Probably just forgot about the visor. The award for most senile announcers in the league goes to Detroit AINEC.

  • Hope Kopitar is ok. I love Richards going after Morrow. Couple of warriors who play the game hard...

  • I'm a huge Kings fan but that's just a great clean hit . . . sucks that Kopi fell awkwardly into the boards but wow, what an awesome hit . . more of this please.

Kudos for Richards and Morrow dropping the gloves too . . I'm usually not a fan of fights after clean hits but this seemed appropriate.

  • @cuttysarkn3ss im a stars fan but i admire kopitar, kinda supprised morrow caught him with his head down. But yea if someone thinks thats a dirty hit you dont no shit about hockey.

  • I'm guessing a one game suspension, not so much for the hit but rather the proximity to the boards. They have been suspending players all year for hit that are 3 feet from the boards and cause the player to hit the boards in an awkward fashion.

  • @rectagon1 what you are talking about is hits next to the boards when the player has his back turned. This is nothing like that. Kopitar is wrapping around the net trying to cram the puck in the far side and is met straight on by the side of the net. They haven't outlawed hits when you are trying to carry the puck to the net ... at least not yet.

  • @Davidm3286 Yeah but you can't take a run at a guy who is 4 feet from the boards. If you do the other 2 feet of his body (usually his head and neck) are going straight into the boards. Is it a clean hit? Yeah he hit him with his shoulder. Is it a legal play? Yeah he hit him with the shoulder. But charging, by definition, is what happened here.

  • @andorfornorbutsodips except that the hit wasn't at all charging. Charging is when you take your strides into a player. Morrow can clearly be seen coasting from at least the top of the circles.

  • @TheClincher10 Look it up; the rule says nothi

    ng about strides

  • @Davidm3286 Turns out you were right. :)

  • Just a clean, hard hit. Morrow didn't charge, elbow, hit him in he head, he just hammered him. A lot like his hit on Milan Michalek a few years ago. Look it up, it's freaking awesome.

  • @DLGFTW He did charge. No where in the rules does it say anything about strides. THe guy traveled out of his path to hit a guy. Morrow had traveled 300ft in a straight line and didn't stop until he hit Kopitar. He had it in his mind about 15ft from Kopitar that he was going to hit him. If that happened anywhere else it would have been an obvious blindside.

  • @andorfornorbutsodips you're an idiot. that was a perfectly clean hit. Kopitar clearly going around the net, Morrow reads the play and levels him cleanly.

  • @andorfornorbutsodips There is a lot wrong with this comment.

First, the rink is only 200 ft long. Second, if you watch the replays, Morrow's speed doesn't increase and he doesn't explode into Kopitar.

And yes, he did make up his mind before the check. He's lining the check up. It's what happens on every hit ever. By your standard, checks should only be spontaneous.

It's a clean hit, sorry, bud.

  • If you don't like hitting then all you whiners complaining about this hit should go watch golf. A hit that is clean is clean regardless of what happens to the player that got hit. If the LA player bounced up and kept skating you would call it a clean hit. Because he is hurt you call it a dirty hit. Look at the hit and not the effect on the player. Open your eyes or we should just remove hitting from the game altogether.

  • Awesome clean hit. Totally by the book. Check is great, what happened after the check as Kopitar flew in the air is not a reason to go back and rewrite what happened. I hope Kopitar is fine though, I like clean physical hockey but hate to see guys get hurt.

  • @SelfAccountable +1 sir, well said in every defense you had there. Kings fans are idiots sometimes.

  • Stop crying was a Clean HOCKEY hit....just unfortunate after effect...like guy said...don't like it...go watch figure skating....lol

  • Haha a few months earlier some player attacked and knocked down a Jesenice player with the stick in Slovenia, during a game pause. The sheep's teammates didn't move a muscle to attack the dirty player. Hahah sheep.

Haha k je pr ovcah v Deželi brez sonca od VSV-ja igralec nabil eno ovco dol s palco so ovčji soigralci samo veselo gledal

  • If you think that wasnt a typical hockey play and that it is to rough for your tastes. Go and watch some figure skating.

  • So it's OK to hit to the neck? I don't at all think the hit was dirty, but seriously, a hit to the neck is just as dangerous as a hit to the head in terms of concussion/ serious head injury danger. The situation is unfortunate and nobody should require any greater penalties for Morrow, but I believe hitting to the neck should be adressed similarly as hitting to the head was in Rule 48. And regarding cleanliness, it's a much different hit than the clean "Pronger on Backes" earlier this season.

  • @boutrosyerevan Oh please - shutup! Clean hit - nothing wrong with it. Tell Kopitar to keep his head up next time. Morrow does not play dirty - period.

  • Textbook hit. When you get leveled, you get leveled. Hopefully Kopitar is okay, but just because a guy gets injured from a clean hit doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it.

  • Clean contact, not so clean location. I don't think it's cause for suspension/fine, but it looks like this hit is in boarding territory. Probably should have been a penalty here.

  • @gongargongar WTF are you talking about? It was a body to body hit, and not from behind, but from the side. It is a textbook hockey hit, and reason #1 why kids should be taught to skate with the head up and on a swivel -- as clearly Kopitar's was not.

  • @SelfAccountable Sure, everything you said is mostly true, but as I stated in the comment you're responding to which apparently you didn't bother reading, the contact was clean, but the proximity to the boards when contact is made is, as most kids should be taught, in a very dangerous area.

  • Perfectly legal/clean hit with unfortunate injury. Textbook example of why you skate with your head up. Also, these announcers are absolutely clueless. The extra unsportsmanlike conduct minor was for instigating a fight while wearing a visor.

  • @yepthatshockey I was thinking the same thing about them announcers lol

  • I like how the kings announcer seemed to have no awareness of the fact that kopitar was steamrolled. what game was he watching?

  • No business giving Richards what he got. Kopitar fell badly; sadly it happens - but both unsportsmanlike and a misconduct? At last check, the trainers weren't helping Morrow off the ice...calling here: He's a marked man.

  • @coatais You are a marked idiot for not understanding the anatomy of what is a clean hit. Second, you are an utter moron for not understanding that the fight was instigated by Williams -- you can see Morrow not immediately engage him. Morrow only fought after he was attacked after making a good clean hit on Williams. The right penalties were assessed to the Kings, period. Stop your whining.

  • Good clean hit

  • clean hit, but that just suck for kopi, rough. I don't think Richards should have got as many penalty minutes but you gotta stick up for him there.

  • Hit wasn't dirty, he won't get suspended...he got rocked.

  • dirtiest hit of the year should be suspended

  • @leetbarker What a dumbass you are. Dirtiest hit of the year? Do you even know the criteria for an illegal hit? This hit was A) Not to the head B) Not from behind C) Was thrown on a player with the puck D) Was body to body contact --- Let me know when you figure out that checking is a part of the game, and that this was a textbook example of a clean check.
