@slayerman95 you have to add your computer to a domain in wich you are superior to the other computer, and also turn on the setting wich allows these commands. Also, most antivirus and firewall programs will detect it as something bad and block the request. It's a real pain in the ass to do it like this. Try cain&abel instead, more features :D altho the abel-part could make the pc freeze when trying to connect to the cain if it can't find it. Solution: taskmgr, kill task abel, and it's unfreezed

Chances are all laptops are assigned an ip automatically from their router. Therefor the numbers should be really close to yours.

For example if you were to connect and get 192.168.0.9 chances are there are computers connected/or have been around that ip address like 192.168.0.8, 192.168.0.10 etc...

it is the vista skin for xp because it has the "run" button in the start menu. in vista you have to use the "start search" in the start menu.
