Or if you get lost at the surface or down low write down the X,z Coordinants of your "home" And just walk towards it Useing the F3 Button. Or make some redstone torches and put them in the direction of the way out.. along with regular torches for regular lighting.

What if it isn't tunnels but a huge cavern with ups and downs and connected to five or six other caves been stuck there for quite a while:'(

@axehandjo123 there is always a left hand wall... even if you go all the way around and back the way you entered this technique will help you realise that and, nice time you approach, you'll remember it's a cavern with entrance on left and exit on right. Same applies to all the connected sub-caves
