  • If there is a comment on Chuck Leveall here I haven't read it. A f***ing amazing Hammond organ solo that even JJ was impressed by. He wanted him to take another solo but Chuck started singing.

  • Kieth Richards is way out of his league with this group of talent......SORRY FOLKS, WAY WAY!!! That was amazing stuff!!!!!

  • @seupoat

Richards was the music director for this concert film. Obviously he's not out of his league when he was the one who put the league together. You think this kind of talent assembles to take instructions from a hack?

  • @subg88 Richards is most definitely out classed by all theses individuals, I am embarrassed for you if you are suggesting other wise.

  • @seupoat agreed

  • the way the guy playing organs smiles at johnnie shows how much respect he has for him, and hes an amazing player himself.

  • that piano lick Johnny does at 0:34 makes me want to cry. best piano player ever. period.

  • Sublime !

  • Who is the drummer?

  • @helenawf Steve Jordan

  • Johnnie's so fucking cool. I'm reading a bio now which surprised me. Johnson was such a humble guy that chuck just ran him over, but when it came down to that money, chuck tried to cheat him one time, Johnnie threw his ass around until chuck paid up.

  • Blues musicians in absolutely top quality!!

  • Yeah, nice one. Thanks for sharing this clip, sounds great and it looks like they had a lotta fun.

  • It' s so strange to see Eric with a rosewood neck Strat...

  • I think too.

  • Yeah, but he totally kills it, great feel and what an amazing tone! seriously, that's how a bluesy strat sounds.

  • haha yeah, he didn't seem too happy with it either.

  • @MarcoZucchi81 that means he can play good on everything

  • thank you so much for sharing this clip, it's just so cool :)

  • Johnnie couldn't help but be what he was...an awesome musician and band leader. Watch how he directed everyone into their solos. This is just spontaneous magic.

  • Really, just good old 'gutbucket blues' as Johnnie called it when he did that homespuntapes DVD. He was such a cool natural guy with awesome keyboard talent. Take a look at Down The Road A Piece by Amos Milburn (heyday, 1949) & you'll see how Johnnie was influenced, then, took it to another level to forge his own style that eventually became rock 'n' roll piano, but had blues, jazz, & boogie influences - in a meld to support Chuck Berry's style of playing; which was an update of earlier blues.

  • Chuck sure wasn't singjng, but listen to Johnnie Johnson's piano. Loved that man, and seeing him smile like in this clip makes any day a good day.
