you´re right, the diferential brakes must do the work of stop the plain, or you can set the airbrakes, in the real life the parking brakes can be damaged if it set..........

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's a good idea to activate them on emergency landings like for example, your aircraft has reverse trust and speed brake failures and maybe brake failures.

@TonyThaiboy Never use the parking brakes wether you're in an emergency or not. When you're driving a car you don't use the parking brake in an emergency now do you? Just use the autobrakes on full. The scenario you described will make that impossible to do but it is also an impossible scenario.

@Calum643 Set your nav 1 in the radio stack to the frequency of the nearest ILS then using your GPS get your aircraft inside the green cone of that runways ILS. Now on the auto pilot select APR. Autopilot should now put you on the glide slope and fly you onto your runway. You still need to keep an eye on your Flaps, speed etc and a bit of practise.

In real life at best you would burst your tyres and at worst collapse the main gear. Ive seen the results of both on military aircraft. The good thing about it happening on flight sim is no airframe fitters are having to work on their weekend off to repair the mess. Your aircraft handled well with the nose wheel burst. good work

I used the parking brakes onece, but only because it was a 747 on a SUPER SHORT runway. I had flaps, parking brake, full reverse throttle, and the regular differential brakes on. I barely landed too.

No, a SIMULATOR is not like other games, it's a Software designed to come as close to reality, as possible.

I just thought you may want a tip to make it more realistic, but if not, it's okay.

If you turn damage and collision detection on, the planes nose gear tires burst and the gear gets stuck so you can't turn it any more.

But it still goes straight, cause mostly the backside tires survive it. Only on Payware-planes that is simulated correctly, by a complete tire burst and/or brake failure happening and reduced directional controls afterwards.

But very cool vid, but in fact, only the CRJ700-705 looked real. But that's FSX, you have to find good planes for it...

Always makes me wonder why there isn't some design out there to start rotating the tires just prior to touchdown. Seems like the savings in Tire replacement would justify the extra cost, hardware and weight. Maybe some kind of a passive design to start spinning the tires. Would be interesting to simulate that in a full size simulator.

It's normal that the tires broke, the black marks on the runway aren't brake marks, they are the marks left from the tires which accelerate from 0 to 180mph in no time!

In response to all the comments that say "why not?" or something thing similar. Because the rear wheels touchdown first (well we would hope they touch down first) and because the parking brakes are on: (1) the wheels can stay locked and skid them to death (2) the drag created from the rear wheels pivots the plane forward like a seesaw and the nose gear hits the runway too hard and destroys that tire or the whole gear as well. So you could end up with no rubber left on any of your landing gear.

I did that before in real life with a Cessna 172, I was doing traffic patterns off of 27 right in Oakland, and the entire time I had the parking break slightly on, I didd'nt notice it until I landed and saw the break bar extended, luckily with no damage done. :)
