Guys you are missing the point. By the point any technology actually gets put into widespread use it is already going to be ancient and outdated.

This is especially true of the military all countries; by the time they have gone through with the research and development, the numerous political hurdles and the problems of producing and standardizing something it will be old.

Rest of the military groups like the USMC are as basic tech wise as the Canadian Army. However Canada's new goal is to increase military spending, to focus on a faster, more advanced, better skilled, better combat awareness small military sized Force. Giving them a better punch. If you read military history, numbers are great but in war they don't mean victory. The better trained, better teched army always prevails. That's the CF future.

Is had been proven that CF recieves better food (rations) then any other soldier in the world. CF is the best trained soldiers in the world (Proven). As for being outdated, the CF are not that outdated but what do you expect from such a low military budget? U.S. spends the majority of there tax's on there military and have been doing so for a very long time. If you actually research it though, its only the Army that recieves most of it.

please leave canada,and ur friend and everyone else here from canada who likes or wants to join the american army,and candian army outdated?i can only think of 1 peice of equipment outdated,everything else is top of the line and as new as anything else,the american army,is only better in size,thats all...and all the new cool shit u see, is only what they want u tosee they have plenty of outdated eqip,do the reasearch,american skill is 1/4th of the canaidan skill

Im know someone in the U.S army and he was stationed in Canada for a month and he told me that Canadian Soldiers are treated, paid, and fed better then american troops.

I'm entitled to my opinion, and they I'm going by what looks better and what doesn't look outdated. A lot of people would agree with me. They put a lot more funding into their military so it's expected for them to have more advanced equipment.

most of the money that is dumped into our military is for the afghan efforts, however, since the Conservatives have taken over, i think its nice to be alittle proud of our military again...unlike when the Liberals were in and simply watched it fall

ongoing plans are increasing the size of the military to 70,000 personnel, and 30,000 reserve...investing $45 to $50 billion over the next 20years for major equipment..such as replacing our destroyers, frigates, maritime patrol, search and rescue, aircraft and vehicle fleets...

Personally, that sounds alot better then neglecting the needs of the military, and stealing hundreds of millions of dollars, like the Liberals did..

@cordb I agree. While I'm not fond of Harper wanting to remove the Gun registry (although I'm hoping that there are other methods in place in terms of Gun Control) it is nice to be proud of our military again.

The CF are continuing their tradition of honor and duty on the world stage--calling the mission to Afghanastan "Bush's oil war" is like calling WW2 "Chamberlain's War." If we're fighting for oil in Afghanastan...just do us all a favor and check your facts first--Afghanastan has, at most, 3.6 billion barrels of petroleum. Compare this to other oil producing countries and explain to me why we haven't invaded Nigeria and Venezuela.
