  • I think the most genius part of the sketch is the half second gold fish.

  • @TheKenTerry must be directors cut :P

  • "and there's me with half a wall wattled, I mean wattle I do?" hahaha

  • "I would only perform a scene in which there was total frontal nudity."

  • 0:10

  • "That doen't make any difference to the viewer at home, does it ?" I love that line.

  • Those stone caves can be so grim...

  • I'm not having things getting silly!

  • Someone needs to push the Colonel out for not being silly enough.

  • Now I get that character, like Guiness in the Bridge Over the River Quai

  • definitely ver silly. But who would have it any other way?

  • they are classic... they are doing the opposite things hermits do!!!

  • Gilliam's animations were the reason Monty Python was so brilliant: they afforded the group the opportunity to cut every sketch at its peak and segué into the next one, rather than needing to tie them each off to a punchline. That seems to be the one stylistic innovation in particular that Python bequeathed to British comedy.

  • Mr Gilliam's cartoons are so awesome. T^T

  • This is one of the best skits. I love it. "And here I am with half a wall wattled, I mean what'll do?"

  • The ending was the best.

  • As always, Magnificant.

And some lovly Gilliam animation at the end:)

  • silly again lol

  • "No, we've had ours insulated."

=] I would definitely insulate my cave.

  • Yes, and there's me with half a wall wattled, I mean what'll I do? heehee!!!!

  • "thats the good thing about being a hermit: you get to meet people"

    bahahaha

  • it takes me two hours to get out on the moor, collect me berries, chastise myself.....

    lol

  • Yup, that's Chapman with a big broom.

  • Here's where "Monty genius" is at it's best... I really like it how the sketches blend. Unlike any other show, this is where character are really close to the viewers.

For Pete's sake, what am I talking about?! THIS IS PURE ART!

  • this is pretty much my FAVORITE monty python skit...... EVER!!!

  • Hell yeah, it cracks me up everytime I see it.

  • lol i love this sketch its one of my favourites

  • The end part was called: Animation-Dancing venus

  • pick the berries... chastise myself.. LAMO!

  • 'We've had ours insulated'..Brilliant, monty python were the best, no one shall ever match theyre greatness.

  • Graham Chapman was great in this :)

  • Nobody can beat Gilliam's animation.

  • @acosense

    Or Eric's acting. He's hilarious!

  • @acosense its amazing how nobody can beat his imagination

  • "Hmm, yes. Wouldn't go back to public relations."

    xD Haha. Dear Lord.

  • These guys have always been in a leauge of their own :-)

  • the best part is that as soon as the joke gets old, the general comes in and kicks everyone out.

  • LOL, this is a good one

  • "Yes, and there's me with half a wall wattled; I mean, what'll I do?"

    ::snerk::

  • well he's put me onto waffles.

  • Waffles? Where did you get waffles from. lol It's wattles as in wattle and daub, although waffles would have been pretty freakin' funny too.

  • ahhh he does indeed say wattles lol.

  • fugbunny, that's four yorkshiremen

  • i havent seen soooooooooo much of monty and friends. i am looking for a sketch i think they did about oldish guys discussing 'when i was young', 'back in my day' etc 'we had to get up before we went to bed so we could walk the 30 miles to school.....' 'Looxury!' the other would exclaim... 'in my day we didnt have legs to walk... ***(not the correct words by a long stretch) but they go on and on out doing each other. oh and by the way.... I WANT TO BE A LUMBERJACK

  • this is totally my favorite bit by monty python

  • This is my favourite sketch. Brilliant!

  • ah i just LOVE the monty's ...

  • So where'd you go? *smiles*

  • eric idle is so cute on 1:13-1:15.

john cleese wearing loincloth on 3:21, lol.

  • Thing is, my English class somehow got off topic and started talking about hermits after reading "Morte de Arthur"...it was funny!

  • ha! =P

  • Its all silly !!!!

  • FRANK! CAN I BORROW YOUR GOAT? XDXDXD

  • I got a request...

I'm lookin for the video of the Secretary of State Striptease from the second series (episode 7. The Attila the Hun Show). I would love to see that one again, lol...

  • I love python, I would also greatly reccomend Eddie Izzard.

  • Me too. Eddie is a comedic genius. My absolute favorite perfomer. I saw him in L.A. in a theater that sat maybe 100 people. It was an amazing show! There was hardly a moment to breath between laughs.

  • Strange! It links to the other sketches just like "And now for something completely different", but this sketch wasn't in it...?

  • Oh, come on! Parrot! Parrot! Give it to us! Give us the dead parrot!!!

  • The dead parrot should have been here by now but apparently its nailed to a branch it its cage o.O

  • very good! keep them coming
